  1. Good pics Tom. Why did you not just fell it? Apart from getting cool pics for your website? Someone had to ask....
  2. Chunky monkey that one, John. Good work. And some cracking pics! Which lowering device were you using?
  3. Lovin' the invisible strop on the topper as well.
  4. Nice pecs Mozza. Been workin' out?
  5. Must admit, it did look mightily powerful on that clip! Try before you buy?
  6. That must be why, but it's still staggering that they can leave out a chainbrake, switchgear, casing, handle and engine, and still charge more! I'm off to buy a 170 to gaffer tape to my kombi system.... What attachments have you gone for initially Ady?
  7. Ha ha! I was quoting RRP's to avoid confusion. The BG86 is great machine, and the anti-vibe is awesome, which is pretty important when clearing after a big job. I will buy one when my blower packs up rather than buy the attachment. I'm not saying the attachment is no good, it's just more convenient for my set up. One annoying thing is why does the pruner head cost so much? Can't get one for less than £150, and let's face it, it's only a bar, sprocket and oil tank, when you can buy an entire Stihl (small) chainsaw for the same amount? Crazy! Rev that farty engine up when you get it today!
  8. I'll have one off you for £371 please Justin....
  9. Blower attachment £180 RRP. BG56 £250 RRP. I would spend the extra, Ady. Gives you the option of one cutting / one tidying on long hedges.
  10. I love mine, so comfy. As said though, pretty much put on/take off at base of tree to minimise wear on the base. Pussy loves them...
  11. 4-mix is Stihls eco-friendly combining advantages of 2 and 4 stroke. Stihl uses 50:1 mix, only difference I can tell is in the engine note.
  12. Nice one Nod. Get started on the Armor Prus!
  13. Mozza's right, I have the 130R and love it. I only use the hedgecutter head, but will get a pole pruner head when a job demands it (not often, don't like the 'gypsy stick' much, but for certain jobs it is indispensable). As Penfold says, breaks down and locks securely in any cab. Best of all, with a 1m carbon fibre extension bar, the reach is phenomenal. Gutter height easily reachable from the ground, no more wobbling round on stepladders trying to do the sides. The engine is a 4-mix, which sounds a bit strange and farty, but you get used to it. I'll be very surprised if you don't like it, Ady. Let us know how you get on.
  14. Nice work mate. Bet you smelled lush when you got in.
  15. Same thing happened to me with NFU mate. Cover limited to 10m, never got back to me when I asked for an unrestricted height. Arbinsure gave me a quote really quickly, so I went with them. As Ali says though, each case may vary. Good luck with it.
  16. Knut and Distel both seem popular, but I haven't tried them as I went Prussic-Blakes-VT. Mick has hit the nail on the head, you need to play around with the VT and get used to it in your own time. It is unforgiving, but once you have nailed it I think the benefits are obvious.
  17. I'm sat down with a dictionary now trying to find some new swear words that you lot won't understand. I normally get away with it in conversation because noone understands my slurred Geordie accent anyway...
  18. Sorry for my rant last night chaps. Too much ale. No excuse, I know.
  19. Don't get me wrong fellas. I'm no Hitler / BNP fan. Tough times call for tough measures, though. Even though I've only met him in the flesh once, if he stood I would VOTE LOFTHOUSE!
  20. If you can't afford a rope with a spliced eye McDonalds could usually use some help. can you think of anyone in any trade who would argue the toss over something worth £20 that is such an integral part of their working life? Thread closed.
  21. Get the Tranny sign-written and win loads of creamy work from her posh horsie buddies. Or dump the snobby cow.
  22. Lib-Dem won't get the votes they would do because people are scared that their vote might be 'wasted'. Whoever gets in is in for a tough few years IMO. Hitler had full employment, no gyppos, no scroungers, a fantastic economy, great transport system and a HUGE public popularity figure. Shame he had to mess it all up by invading Poland.... Before anyone has a pop I'm no Fascist. Just telling it how it is. Or should that be was?
  23. Had some early scares with the VT, persevered, learnt how to set it correctly with right combo for me, been great since. If you're happier with other systems, hitches, whatever, that's cool with me. We all want to do a good job, enjoy it, and come home safe. Let's do that.
  24. 3 years eh? Nice to see a customer getting value for money for a change. I have locked away my Felco no. 2's and any knowledge of growing points for the forseeable future in these hard times. Seriously Dave, can I pinch those shots for my portfolio to try and educate a certain type of customer that 'a good hard trimming' is generally counterproductive?
  25. The amount on the one you are thinking of buying....
