My bigger kit like that is covered, it’s the smaller kit I don’t think it was worth it.

That doesn’t sound too bad on paper, but on gear over a year old the payout can be as little as 10%. So you could potentially be insuring £1k’s worth of gear for £700 pa, with a £500 excess. Read the small print guys, it’s all right there on page 167….

I would be very, very careful with tool insurance at the minute. I sacked mine off because I don’t think it’s worth it.

DON’T SHOUT AT ME REUBEN. ALEX AND I BOTH KNOW YOU’RE WRONG! Had a piss about tonight with a fencing stake and Alex’s idea has legs in terms of lift height. I’ll have a play with some straight timber at the yard and report back.

They aren’t a hedge Mick, they’re trees. Their chance to be a hedge has sailed. Fell or move on to the next job. Too many people kowtow to the topping thing, it’s stage one of a removal as we all know. It’s gyppo work. If they don’t want to hear it, f them.

That’s exactly what gave me the idea Paul. Doobin I know you’re right, but I’m after speed with minimum fuck-on. Alex, 50kg bags I can still hand-ball. Even up to 100, which is why I got hernias. I’m taking chocca bags full of wet conny rakings and dust.

That’s it Gareth, I don’t want to fab a new headstock, that’s where the money is. Haven’t got forks Paul, they’re a ‘want’ not ‘need’ item. Alex, elaborate please? I’d rather grab timber than metal, I’m really looking at some cheapo Heath Robinson farmer contraption. A mate can fab 3x3 box no problem, it’s a strong attachment I can’t fathom.

My little Worky Quad will lift a bulk bag into the back of the Transit, just. With the grab annotated horizontally and the handles looped onto the grab tines half open it will just about lift it high enough to kind of wrestle it on. I could do with about another foot or 18” of lift though. Stag make a dedicated bag lifter, at not a bad price (pictured), but would mean swapping attachments out. What I’m after are ideas for something I can grab with the grab and use to lift bags of rakings etc., if that makes sense? Sort of like a short section of telegraph pole with two bars protruding to run through the bag handles. Weight isn’t really the issue, it’s not for ballast or sand, just bags of rakings etc. Any Frankenstein-like ideas appreciated. Let’s hope Doobin and AHPP have been drinking tonight!

I’ve actually got a DC, but a single cab with proper bulkhead lockers is a better option. I’d really like a 4x4 King cab tipper next, but it means a 40% volume loss compared to the Tranny. Nothing is perfect!

Pointless trying to make it curved. Aerodynamic and Hilux don’t belong in the same sentence. The top can be fixed, but it’s better flat so you can use it as a work platform and lash ladders etc. to it.

Another massive issue is if you work for someone regularly, not even necessarily full time, the government say you are legally an employee, even if both parties are very happy with an SE relationship.
