  1. That doesn’t sound ideal. Get some pics up.
  2. Presumably they are coming back to take the rest of it down? If it didn’t fall apart before, it will probably be ok for a bit with 7m of the crown removed.
  3. I would like to point out this is a stock image from FB. I’m far more ugly.
  4. As above (edit - to sime42), but also keep the butts of the second pile off the tips of the first, or you’ll be wrestling all day. Having a t-shirt like this is also important so people know what’s what. Mick’s is in French, obviously.
  5. Landscaper who needs climber ‘with his own insurance’?
  6. Yes. Yes. No - unless it has a TPO.
  7. I think it helped that I had stripped it and given it a good going over with the compressor so it was immaculate and he could get straight to work. It was a disgrace when I took the covers off! More blower love in future! You don’t realise how much you need one till you are without one for a week or two!
  8. I am getting a 36’ combine head for my Worky Quad. I’ll be a millionaire come harvest time.
  9. Update on this. It was indeed a stuck needle valve. Carb kit and service, new diaphragms and primer bulb for good measure. £60 all in from a mate, good as new. Thanks for the input fellas.
  10. Maybe been butchered one time too many. In that location there is only one sensible course of action.
  11. Luckily I don’t really do much work for the ‘12 quotes and cheapest wins’ crowd. 2 man crews out there for £300/day isn’t a dance I’m prepared to join. One of my old customers is delaying pressing the GO button on a £700 ash takedown ‘because things are a bit tight at the moment.’ He has two Ferraris.
  12. Sort of, but you still end up with as much money.
  13. I think reducing rates is a very bad idea. Just be prepared to work harder for them.

    WTF

Don’t be bitter Mick. What are you doing with the hedge? Taking it down to Bristol to get chipped? It will only cost £100 apparently, then you can sell the chip for biomass and retire.

    WTF

I’ve just seen @Mick Dempsey rolling off a ferry at Dover towing a mini digger. Everyone loves a bargain.
  16. Cracking day for it mate. How much was that lump?
  17. No. They don’t operate like that.
  18. It will be like Game of Thrones. Fantastically entertaining to begin with, the plot develops, but the ending is unsatisfying and vaguely inconclusive.
  19. This is a picture taken in the cab.
  20. Very odd. I bet the OP is never heard from again.
  21. Yes. New gravity technology. It’s a shame they don’t have zip-off legs for those really warm days.
