  1. Hypocrisy lives. People pandering to these idiots (I would have said twats a couple of days ago 5shires, but I’m trying) are part of the problem. Felling or cutting timber involves death on massive levels. You can’t get round that. I have felled single trees that make me a mass murderer, hundreds of thousands of deaths. And I like to think I’m pretty moral and careful. I get vegetarians, sort of. Vegans can do the King James Bible thing.
  2. True Al, and sometimes people have neither.
  3. Are they made with leather from gay cows? Or is that something else?
  4. We need a war with Iran first to drum up some support.
  5. Could you not abseil down to it?
  6. Aye, it's alright in that scenario. Goes tits-up when you need a new truck or chipper, mind. It's no way to run a proper business. The groundie won't be on £140 Bill, probably half that.
  7. Just write 13” on a 12” bar with a permanent marker. It will cut really well, you won’t notice the difference anyway, but you’ll feel better.
  8. Lycra is just to show off your massive penis. I don’t wear lycra.
  9. Guilty as charged, and I totally agree. Let’s try and clean it up a bit fellas.
  10. Serves you right for trying to work on God’s day.
  11. Google ‘Hemp polo shirts UK’ You can buy me a sustainable pint when you meet me.
  12. AJS, agreeing with people and taking good advice on board is totally against the spirit of Arbtalk. You should be ashamed of yourself! Very worthwhile topic for discussion though. I’m sure most of us have taken on pisspotical little Saturday morning jobs where it’s barely worth having 2 men but there are a couple of annoying bits that would benefit from rigging.
  13. Interesting article. What is a 'land charges section'? And what is the 'protected area' he was felling the trees in? Not saying he wasn't a total bell end, you don't take a saw to that many mature trees without doing a bit of legwork. I wonder if he should have had a felling licence? Pre-internet I rang a TO and asked if a tree at a certain property had a TPO on it. He said he'd get back to me that afternoon. He called and said 'It does now!' Sneaky twat. Client wasn't best pleased. If the tree was worthy of a TPO it should have had one on it already. The councils response to that Rushmoor case is disgraceful - 'we don't have to put TPO's on our website.' What's the point of having a website then you lazy twats?
  14. That is very true Chris. If a customer says ' it hasn't got a TPO on it' in my experience it's more likely than usual that it has! We always check anyway. I wouldn't ring the TO though, even though I get on with him. If it's not on their own TPO map it's their cock-up, not mine. Price seems pretty fair, be handy getting a little loader in to hump the timber, there's plenty of it.
  15. Perfectly judged Mick! You know the craic though. If you ever look at something and consider moving it, it means that the right thing to do is move it. Except those whirlygig washing line things. They never get broken, at all.
  16. Also don't forget to accidentally add a couple of zero's to your quote. Anyone who lets their tree get in a state like that deserves to be thoroughly rinsed.
  17. I assumed that it was if you used a tree as your avatar and the tree got felled your avatar disappeared.
  18. Asking for it to be done this week is almost as big a joke as asking for it to be done for free. So, not only do we work for nothing, but we are instantly available to work for nothing....
  19. I have telt the EU emissions polis on you. You will be lucky to get less than twenty years.
  20. Those Oxford chains are very good Dan, and I like the idea, but the 160 has a T-pole chassis rather than an A-frame. There is nothing beefy enough to link the chain through on the chipper without having a stupidly long chain.
