  1. The fuel cost of taking 4 40year old leylandii to the tip will probably outweigh the costs of getting the pros in.
  2. He’s winding you up Kate! Well done to all the winners. Great shot Carlos.
  3. It’s actually a really nice little trailer, but it’s on the cusp with the grab. I can get the weight further forward with the grab off, but it’s suicidal to carry on like this.
  4. Who are people insuring their machines with? Arborisk have quoted me an extra £750 pa on top of my existing policy. The wording is in insurance speak, I need to call them and check I’m covered for theft, fire, damaging the machine on site, or during transportation.
  5. I know starlings are prone to laying eggs in flight. Gary, what you have found is from a hybrid, called a phartridge. GM game bird that flies faster but produces more meat.
  6. Even Adam, the mental young chef/sometimes groundie!
  7. I cocked up on moving it though. The cheapo trailer I bought just isn’t man enough, and the ramps I’ve got need beefing up. Would have been better off splashing out that cash on decent 10’ ramps like Doobin suggested, at least until I can afford a proper plant trailer. Still, we got home. The lads loved the machine, pretty easy to get to grips with. (Yes, I obviously lifted the arse end into the air testing the capacity!)
  8. Called in big brother for the butt, though….
  9. Capstan was also useful for rigging a few bits over the ABC at the back without moving the bollard.
  10. Worky Quad arrived on Monday. I was subbing for a mate today on a fair sized ash. I took one look at it and went home for the loader! Really impressed us all. 3 loads of heavy without the normal ringing up and backache.
  11. Or they bunged the farmer £500 and pissed the job 4x faster….
  12. I saw that mate, and it’s pretty disappointing really. No doubt Fury pushed him, but he had every right to land another big shot instead, which could have been disastrous for Whyte. He was clearly gone, ref called it spot on.
  13. I totally agree that a job like that needs visiting before committing a price mate, but a bit more info would have saved you the trip.
  14. You’ve only got yourself to blame Stu. Due diligence at pricing stage? You’ve ignored the basics covered on a very recent thread.
  15. Some uppercut that.
  16. I would imagine it might be a bit on/off with two people, so adding a fig 8 might be a pretty good idea, and would only add seconds.
  17. I was only joking mate. Two American climbers would weigh more than 500kg. Their egos weigh 150kg alone.
  18. Great spruce bark beetle (Dendroctonus micans) - Forest Research WWW.FORESTRESEARCH.GOV.UK Information about the tree pest great spruce bark beetle ( Dendroctonus micans )
  19. Sorry Open, didn’t read your full reply. What’s the location? Hopefully you can rule out beetle?
  20. What’s the soil type and rainfall been like?
  21. They can’t Dan. It’s only rated to 500kg.
  22. Have a play with a hitch and the Petzl Chicane Joe.
  23. I agree totally Joe. It’s a totally unacceptable response. I don’t use the Runner myself and have no issues with it per se, but you’d expect better when peoples lives are literally on the line.
  24. 90? Are you mental? That’s more than my cock.
