Kirklands made a new body for me but still on original tipping gear. I THINK from VFS, but can’t remember 100%. Where would that valve be @eggsarascal?

Haven’t tried yet. Obviously on the down cycle it’s normally empty. Only found out yesterday when I’d tipped the only load, and it’s not getting filled today because we are stacking in a woodland.

My Transit has developed a problem on the down cycle of the tipping bed. It tips up fine and strongly, but will only lower in small shunts, having to turn off the tipper electronic control on the dash between each shunt. Taking about 8 shunts to get it back down. I’ve topped up the hydraulic oil, which was rather low, but the problem persists. What’s next, battery?

Lovely looking dogs on this thread fellas, especially the pups Conor! Multiple layers and secrecy are key IMO. Locks, alarms, cameras, black powder mines etc. It’s a ballache, but pro thieves can bypass everything. Absolutely everything. Insurance is probably THE most important thing, sorry to sound defeatist. To the OP, if it’s a totally new build I’d drop a lock box under the floor, like a mini-cellar, and hide it under a load of rubber garage tiles or something. Leave some shitty old saws in a rack secured with a cheapo alarm cable or something to stop them looking too hard. Best of luck!

ARRRSE! Biggest muscle in the body mate (except for @topchippyles, (and it’s actually a gland),). Take it easy, get some ice on it. And yes, drink shitloads. You can’t do much else. @Rich Rule might have some good advice, those muay thai lads have a lot of quad/ham/glute injuries.

I had a really good chat with Merlin today, they were very helpful, discussing my height, build, intended usage etc. I’m going to go for their ‘First Shot’ kit recommended by Muttley. 68” recurve with 26lb draw. The riser is good for limbs up to 42lbs as I progress, if needed. I’ll get some extra arrows as well. It won’t take me long to lose 5.

Whatever you do, get off a Blake’s as soon as you can. It will hold you back and wear your body out.

Merlin seem excellent. I’ll talk to them and put together a basic set up. Although I’m a short arse I have a span of 6’1”, so draw length 29”? Hopefully they can sort a recurve out with 25lb draw that I can upgrade the limbs on as necessary. Thanks for the input fellas, much appreciated.

I’ve always fancied a quiver, but I reckon you’re spot on. I’m 5’ 8”. I was thinking 40lb draw, but not really sure.

It depends. If someone wanted to start selling logs I’d say get a Gransfors. If they wanted to smash up a couple of pallets I would say get some cheap Chinese shit off the internet. I’m pretty sure my archery endeavours will fall into the second category….

Anyone here into archery? I used to do a bit years ago. I recently bought the big twin a cheapo kids set, but my internet browsing has bought up several well priced adult starter kits. I’m not looking to do comps or anything, just mess around really. Any tips on draw weights etc. welcome.

Digger would have been nice! I barrowed every stone from a broken wall round that little wood in the distance. The farmer said I was mental and would never do it. We sat on that wall when I’d finished and he gave me a bottle of Grouse and we had a few tins of McEwans Export that Dad and Mam bought out. Happy times.

I built this wall when I was 19. There’s a lot wrong with it (be quiet Matthew!), but it’s still up 33 years later.
