  1. Aye, I remember my Opinel being like that.
  2. Some great suggestions, thanks. I already have a Victorinox pastry knife, which is brilliant. I’m intrigued by the carbon steel thing, Victorinox all seem to be stainless? A whetstone set looks like a must, and I’ve ordered a cheapish ceramic knife to see what that’s all about. I might have to wait a while before pressing the go button on some of these, I’m unemployed at the minute!
  3. I’m doing a lot of cooking at the minute and my knife selection is pretty tired to say the least. I’m after recommendations for a simple razor sharp knife that takes an edge and holds it. Just for general veg prep and dicing chicken mainly, so it doesn’t have to be massive. I have a Wusthof sharpener that also seems well past it’s best, is there anything better? Thanks.
  4. Slowly and carefully. Been on some long dog walks and drove yesterday. Doing this gentle phys routine. And cooking a lot!
  5. There’s a lot of choice now. Danny Mac has had great success with the Chicane and a hitch. Can easily swap out to Ddrt if required.
  6. How’s it going Darrin? Are you home yet?
  7. Good question Mac. I found this link. I presume most felled were hundreds rather than thousands of years old. https://www.savetheredwoods.org/blog/how-old-are-these-redwoods-really/
  8. Whilst I largely agree with that (cutting down trees that were 2000 years old), they probably had no idea of the impact they were having. And by Christ they grafted for it! Can you imagine spending a day on that saw?
  9. Has anyone tried the Notch Fusion with the RW yet?
  10. Glad it’s gone well Darrin, didn’t realise you were having the op so quick! What flavour of hernia/op did you have? I won’t be at all offended if you don’t want to discuss it on an open forum, or at all. PM if you like. Main thing isn’t to heal quick, but to heal right. All the best mate.
  11. Just told it to my 10 yr old daughter mate. She loved it, and got it a lot quicker than I did!
  12. Haha, that’s more like it Ratman!
  13. Sorry Steve, I was typing when you posted that. Take my wallet, please don’t hit my face!
  14. Just for context here’s Rich’s original ‘oppressive’ post. Do you not think you’ve overreacted a bit manco?
  15. Do you honestly think the RF are a net drain on the national coffers then Andy?
  16. There’s a story there Ratman. When the police caught him they asked how many bodies were buried in his garden. ’Ten’ he said. They dug up twelve bodies. When he was next interviewed they said, ‘Fred, not only are you a horrible murdering bastard, you’re also a liar. There were twelve bodies.’ West replied, ’Well I’m a builder, it was only an estimate.’
  17. Cheers Tommy! I was about to PM Alec to get him to explain the punchline!
  18. I reckon a couple of months, but I’ll be doing light duties before then. Do yourself a favour mate, get some private medical insurance sorted out NOW before they diagnose it and it goes on your record.
  19. Anyone who doesn’t like the Royals should feel free to f-off to a country with no Royal family. There seem to be a few cretins about who can’t understand why they built Windsor Castle underneath the Heathrow flight path.
  20. Aaaaaaarrrrrggghhhhh! I’m just off for a short walk now to find a sturdy tree, carrying a stool and a noose! Thankfully I’ve not had the TV on at all. Like you, plenty of little projects to keep me going, although some of the kit servicing etc. can wait a week or two.
  21. I can’t remember saying it wouldn’t. I like the Royals, they are part of our country and heritage.
