  1. V nice jonny, might get one then to go with my 560's saying that I have another dolly on order from shavey. Don't break a flip cap though jonny! 12 quid each those.
  2. What ya running em on? 15"
  3. Have the 550 been reliable jonny? My 2 560's have but I have heard stories of the 550's being unreliable. I have an early 261, hardly used and re built 3 times if any one wants to buy it, no use as a saw but makes a bloody good paper weight!
  4. A darn sight more reliable than the 261 ! If your to weak to lift a few more ounces then it's gym time
  5. Really???? What utter s hit.
  6. I have a 261 also a bag of crap with clutch problems, been re built 3 times and faulty again! Husky 550 or dolmar 5105.
  7. Oh I knew exactly what you were getting at! After the workshop we have got a few things ticked off the list so this year is a goer!
  8. I like it enough to be putting it on the side of our trucks later in the year!
  9. I like the shield paul, think it's an improvement.

    Forst st8

Must be a new thing, I ordered some filters this week and got a boost bar aswell, thanks redwoods .
  11. Is that not the older model 202? PeteB is ya man to ask. Going to need a bit spending on it to make it hse complient aswell.
  12. Personally I don't like any of the sub 750k stuff, had it in the past but would rather have a heavier built machine, we run an 8" forst and an 8" jensen both great but well above 750kg, the st6 is better built that both others but again over 750kg, there is little substitute for thick metal in this game.
  13. I only use fuel genie as it's only pump price so I know it's not going to go up unless the pumps do also there is no service charges, I got one of the other cards and failed to use it and they charged me 45 quid for the month for nowt so they got binned! At the end of the day there is no such thing as a free lunch they all have to make money, I go with fuel genie purely for convenience all round.
  14. Lol I wouldn't get carried away with the money making thing! Pretty much everyone you deal with as a business will charge you vat so you may aswell join the club to benefit your business. It's not really the big frightening hoo har people make it out to be.
  15. I have used fuel genie fir about 4 yrs now, the reason I got fuel cards is other people can fill up and it saves keeping a months worth of receipts to give to the book keeper only to find out 3 are missing! I get a vat statement at the end of every month that goes to my accountant, so in the long run saves me a bit of money on book keeping charges as there isn't tons of bits of paper to go through!
  16. I just add vat on the labour side as your materials will probably have vat on to start with.
  17. Yes you can't having it both ways!
  18. When I registered 3 years ago I claimed about 2k back ( up until then I bought mainly second hand stuff mostly with no vat, after going vat I buy mostly new stuff as with the vat off things seem far better value. To a book keeper /accountant it's not a faff, it's what they do day in day out, just leave them to it and they will keep you sorted, as for domestics no no body likes paying extra but hey ho that's life we pay vat on pretty much everything from fuel to stuff in bnq, just build it into your price and don't tell then unless they ask.
  19. I went vat 3 yrs ago, can't see why people make a big issue of it really, pretty much everybody I deal with from my garage to kit suppliers are vat reg so why as a business should I be? When you go vat reg you will realise how expensive second hand kit from non vat firms is compared to brand new!
  20. Haha yeah of course paul, our 8" forst out chips the jenny but she's a good old girl and the winch is good.
  21. Finished a 2 day job felling some dead re gen Elms over a stream, felled them and pulled em out with the winch on the 8 " jensen.
  22. I got a free carrier bag in Aldi tonight! Result.
