  1. I'm running a grafter and a Renault 3.5 I won't have a problem yard wise as nothing is at home it's all at a secure yard, biggest pain is either hunting out an isuzu 6.5t or doing c+e licence as our chippers are both over 750kg.
  2. Mine goes to stobarts, a load going on Wednesday.
  3. Yeah seen them, what truck you running now then?
  4. Thanks Bob, v helpful. Yeah he has a o centre where I rent my place, is it better to get these firms to do the application stuff then? In reality then peter down plating that truck is pointless as say it weight 5t with all the gubbins on it I will end up with a 1.5t payload! Hardly a leap forward to a 3.5t and even easier to over load given the space available!
  5. Yeah I would peter but there are 2 of us so just trying to keep away from more bloody tests, it's all a compromise really .
  6. Thinking of this on tbay 322047166815 just worried about pay load after down rating to 6.5t.
  7. Ar right, the 6 artics will no doubt make a big difference to just one 7.5t truck. My landlord had a national o licence as it is but I need my own according to the powers that be, it's 27 quid to down plate to 6.5t aswell. What sort of weight will a 7.5t tipper be ?

    Overloaded

Why I'm considering going o licence. The big problem with overloading on a regular basis is what it does to the vehicle and at some point something has to give.
  9. Thats the sort of crap I can do without, atm I have no limitations at my yard, 24/7 access if I need it, there's no wonder people are put off running bigger stuff.

    Tiny echo!

Tempted to give one if these ago. Is that price Inc vat Rob?
  11. I agree, it's like one of the flyers that come through the door from you know who! Brake it down into pages and make it mobile friendly.
  12. Are you applying for a restricted Licence or full one? What environmental problems you having?
  13. I get by ok, that's why you have a groundy is it not?
  14. No that's just ya transit mark with you in it!
  15. Train weight, chipper at 1250k
  16. I have been saying that for a while Pete, reduce threshold to O so all businesses need to register but reduce vat rate to 10% hmrc would actually be better off, small business would all be on an equal footing and domestic don't have a choice but only have to swallow 10% This country insists on make success so hard through bull **** legislation.
  17. Got it thanks Peter, all my kit is well maintained so I wouldn't have a problem with that.
  18. Yeah I understand what bob said ref overloading but what I was getting at is it pretty much the same consequences on an o licence as the same as a 3.5t ie a fine per k over or is it more serious like points or licence revoked.
  19. Been looking at canters and isuzu peter, I already have a 3.5t nkr and it's a great little truck, only reason I mention down plating a 7.5t is that there loads more about, 6.5t are thin on the ground. I don't want an iveco or van based 6.5t but a truck based one. What's the consequences of getting cough over weight on an o licence?
  20. Thanks Bob, that makes a lot of sence. What sort of pay load would I get on a 6.5t with a couple of guys and tools?
  21. It probably seems like it's more trouble than it really is, I would have to down plate to 6.5t to be able to pull out chipper, what sort of pay load will I be looking at? 2t 2.5t ???
  22. But that is this industry all over, if I was going to invest the best part of 100k and 10 yrs of my life again it wouldn't be in this industry!
  23. If it was a hgv it would of been worse. What trucks you running? But I know it's the right thing to do in reality.
  24. It's only a fine on a 3.5t though if over loaded on a hgv is a new anus isn't it?
  25. My kit is maintained no questions, it's just vosa, once they have you on there radar they can be utter runts.
