  1. That's the problem, it's the power loss, god knows what that vermeer is like with a 30hp petrol and hydraulic head!
  2. I get all 3 but who cares!
  3. Good point, be interesting to see how many hours a hydraulic machine can clock up until trouble brews. My 4012D has 280 hrs on it and so far has had both drive belts replaced £400 and both head bearings £500 plus service items so in 4 yrs has cost me about 1k in bits, not bad really considering what's it's earn in those 4 yrs.
  4. It was actually! Never again.
  5. I haven't broken sweat grinding in the last 4 years and there so easy to see what your grinding.
  6. Don't get me wrong mick there was plenty of power and with the anti stress it keeps the machine from bogging down, if you need a bigger grinder with narrow access, remote, dozer blade and hydraulics the predator p50 is it.
  7. I feel your pain, I always use the carlton when ever possible, if the pedestrian machine goes out one of my guys usually does it! Oh and spend a bit more and get remote you won't regret it, I once ground a big stump out in the rain sat in the van lol.
  8. Yeah that's one option, in fairness though if looked after they don't cost that much considering the hrs they cab do.
  9. Probably right Bob in fairness.
  10. Not it's not but the belts are bloody expensive and there are more bearings and shafts etc, one of the big advantage of a hydraulic machine is the ability to run other things from the hydraulics, basically there a big power pack, fir the big predator you can mount a mulching head on the back, you could power a splitter or post knocker etc etc.
  11. Yeah I think head speed is about the same but you don't get the same amount of torque.
  12. Traced grinders are far better on banks and grass but can also make a hell of a mess if not used carefully, wheeled 4x4 is probably the best of both worlds.
  13. Your right with less maintenance although you do have pumps and hoses to look after but one of the biggest draw backs is loss of power, belt drive is much less power hungry, on a hydraulic head you will loose about 10% power over a belt! I just demo a predator p50, 50hp hydraulic but in fact my carlton 34hp was just as fast grinding due to less power loss. Hydraulic is simple and is probably the future.
  14. I have a 4012 diesel with radio remote on multi tip, had it nearly 4 years now, ex council with low hrs, has 280 hrs in total now! Plenty of grunt but like any 2 wheel drive grinder even with duel wheels on there not too good on banks or wet ground.
  15. Your right, adding good content could be classed as SEO and when I add posts I still do meta and alt tags etc etc but in the original sence seo is pretty much dead as Google changes the goal posts all the time, the Web company's who try sell seo work fir 500 quid with the promise of top ranking are talking bull.
  16. I have a "news" page and update the site weekly with new pictures etc I'm currently mid way on page one and have been for a couple of years, don't get obsessed with being no 1 as everybody has a different way of looking at things, some people never go for the first 3 etc so as long as your on page 1 some where all is well, obviously not the last on the list either.
  17. Hahaha yeah I know, one thing nobody can promise unless it's paid ads like ad words.
  18. Pretty much what I said seo is pretty much dead, Google changes how things are ranked all the time so people are constantly updating stuff, seo was a way of trying to beat Google at its own game so it moved the goal posts, it's more about content and relevance now. I know no more than you just what I have been told by quite a few well respected Web guys.
  19. Seo is pretty much dead it's all about content etc.

    Cheap chains???

I'm with Mesterh, why pay good money for a top class saw and put lower quality parts on that actually make it cut worse :what:
  24. That's got "up hill gardener " written all over it!
  25. You must have the guy cab version mine has a glove box but is the "Euro" cab. I have had one fot almost 3 yrs, great little truck, pulls well, carries more than it should and can turn on a six pence! Parts can be expensive but mine has been one of the most reliable vehicles I have bought. Getting a 6.2t next.
