  1. Great pictures Shanks..are they Spruce?..and where abouts in Scotland are they?
  2. Check their website Dave.....it,s a great product...also for spot spraying
  3. i,ve used a CONTROLLED DROPLET APPLICATOR on many occasions which was supplied by GREENAWAY... at the end of the lance is a spinner...as you pace up and down it flicks the emulsion...it only needs one droplet per weed provided that the conditions are good....i,e the plant is uptaking water...Worked very well every time....there is an "Beep" as it spins in order to calculate dose and coverage etc...
  4. No worries mate..it,s a shame we didn,t get a chance to work together that time..But as you know the tree World is a small one and who knows what,s around the corner!..What brings you to Chiswick?..Most of my work these days is Ealing,Chiswick Kew area...
  5. Hey John try "Gristwood and Toms"...they have a site in Ealing (just up the road)...08458 731500
  6. Some great camera angles....a different approach and very enjoyable.
  7. Gibbon, that was awsome!..watched in Full HD and played through Home Cineama!..felt every Hand over hand, every Karabiner flick and General climb to the top. Great Video of Modern tree climbing methods...Well worth the 6 hour upload...Beautiful location...And i have to agree with Mr Bullman that you can see the effort you put in to what was a worthwhile struggle up the srt...Thanks for Sharing

  10. Check out all that GUCCI!...Good for you Ed....you have become an Arbtalk Celebrity!
  11. Excalibur!!!!!!....i have to have one of these!!!!
  12. Fantastic Post Jack!..it,s always great to see how things were done before mechanisation...except for rounding off the butt end with a chainsaw and the chainsaw winch. But superb viewing...Spent a bit of time in Kielder Forest where extraction was done with Horses...Brilliant!
  13. I Totally Agree Marc...Ladders are for Window Cleaners! It,s sad i know, but i often cycle off to a nice Big tree with open Boughs and spend a couple of hours throwing in my spare time...If you visualize the bag sailing through the "Hole" it becomes second nature after a while..."Use the Force"...
  14. Nice photo.s Reg...that Bird is definately Master of all he Surveys!..A true bird of Prey. i Snapped these visitors at my local Pond...Think one of them is from your neck of the woods...
  15. My Favoured method on a large tree is to install my rope and cambium saver from the ground using a 12 oz bag and throwline...i,m a very good shot thankfully and always get the highest point in the tree within a few shots...then pantin up to my first work position.(Very satisfying)...on a medium tree i,m happy to ladder up to the crown break then strop to strop to the top!..But i always enjoy to climb from the ground...plenty of coils...reverse throw over the shoulder gets great height over my first branch...that,s the beauty of being a tree climber,so many ways to get up!
  16. Great work Eddie but Elfinwood,s picture caught my eye...That,s my Dream Home!...I,m from Durham City and spent most of my youth up Crawlyside bank in a cottage...where is this fine Cabin Elfinwood?
  17. Interesting Project Dave...Any idea what caused this?...Subsidence?
