The missus flew off to the Phillapines last week and although I was working I managed to get to the end of heathrow on my dinner break in time to see the 12.30 Cathay Pacific leaving the ground...so I have decided to return to Durham for the weekend leaving the blossom fulled streets if Kew...there was a smart Camper parked up as I waited for her plane to leave wgich has given me an idea...i am going to save up fir a cheap mibule hone abd gi travelling aroubd Britain abd Europe in Search of Tree related Adventure!

That was Brilliant...my favourite of all because of the peices filmed in the pick up...great insight into what you are thinking about regarding the job and stuff... nice film making and I could tune into that if it was on t.v each week...really really interesting video...becoming more documentary like:thumbup::thumbup:

  6. Interesting post merle:thumbup: I will get a ropenight:) I think of throwlinig as branch fishing so I suppose it's like a fisherman and his assortment of "flies" ...so it's the way forward for me. With a weaver a ropenight and a 10oz Slug I shall always be prepared:thumbup:

  12. Johny's advice is good...the carlton is a nice bit of kit but like Rupe suggested the Vermeer252 is a great all round machine...I use one on a regular basis. Use the "yellowjacket" teeth..

  15. Yes it is very heavy...I believe they can be up to 5 kg....skullcrushers!
  16. I now have a terrible image in my head and spat my scrumpy out:rolleyes: a great machine Dean:thumbup: I rather enjoy hand stitching rips and cuts...very theraputic.

My ZigZag is retired to the top shelf alongside the BuzzLightyear toy my son gave me when he was eight...I shall always keep it as it holds such sentimental value...it has replaced a rather fine specimin I was given last week from a bloke at work...the shelf was occupied by a "Coulter Pine" cone...it was brought back from California and he gave it to me...its only a medium sized one and weighs about 3 kg! Its nickname is the widowmaker and is very spikey....
