  1. Interesting post Goaty.... I read somewhere the the Tulip tree (liriodendron tulipifera) was also used in musical instrument manufacture...

And have started to wear 10 quid Bolle safety sunnies underneath...our lead climber doesn't wear any face protection ever and I cringe when I see him flinch due to debris flying into his eye...gave up advising him to wear one....he just says, "xxxx that" :thumbdown:

Hey Alex!...whenever my Mother asks what I want for my Birthday or Xmas...I always say.."Anything Tree related" so I don't know where she got it:confused: I shall ask her:) just leaving Kew for London City and a date with Mrs Fox...its 8 o'clock and there is beautiful Blossom on the station's trees and the birds are singing:)
  11. Had to post these pictures...I am enjoying climbing for pleasure more than ever...found a place to get on trees that border Kew Gardens! I install a cambium saver from the ground and give it a hug on the way down so treat the trees with respect... and my mate likes taking pictures as much as me! I love climbing trees...especially now the weather is back on track:cool:

  15. Have you tried one Matt? Are there any climbers using them at city Sub?
  16. It's the best hand cutting tool in Tree Surgery of the highest quality Jon and that is for the whole unit.(just re-sharpen or buy a new blade)....remember I made £90 in 3 hours with a (Small) Silky...this is a Gomtaro on Steroids!
  17. I'm hooked on the Slug at the momet but having said goodbye to regular throwbags I do need a back-up tgriw weight and as a HUGE fan of the Sawpod I will be at Capel Manor looking to try/throw one:)
  18. Food was delicious Jon:) silky was 50 quid I think and can cut any diamter wood that a 200T can cut....only using elbow grease:D
