Are the any specific Deer Fencing Courses out there?

remember to build the 3m strainers in a box formation otherwise you will pull them out the ground when you tension it up. 2.4m posts for the inters i use as rolls of deer net weigh a fair bit themselves. i cant remember where i was reading it but they were now changing the guidelines / reccomendations regarding fencing where there are specific species due to them getting caught up in the wire. -

some of it is embedded heavily whilst others it is loose. like i said before i did consider sending someone round with a truck and stihl saw cutting all the wire off but with the high amount of trees to do im considering just putting a 13tonner on site with a set of shears and guilottine them off as low as i can.

not allowed to break the surface within reason, all machinery to be low ground pressure and all stumps have gotta be cut short enough to mow over the top of. gonna be alot of good fruit wood but a large amount of contaminated stuff too.

i did consider sending someone round with a stihl saw to snip the wire but with nearly 1200 trees to do i dont think it will be viable

yeah i have all that kit but the main problem we have is that the bottom of the trees are all covered in chicken wire upto 3ft to stop the rabbits. looks like its gonna be a tree shear job!

yeah i can imagine, problem with this site is that 1 its an orchard and 2 its heavily overgrown. they have said they dont want anything left as mulch and it has to either be burnt on site or totally removed whole. i dont think they appreciate how many lorries it will take to clear a ten acre site if they want it removed whole.

with regards to parts, yes a good trailer doesnt wear out that quick but if its subjected to constant heavy use all day every day stuff does break either to wear and tear or misuse. and its alot easier and cheaper to keep a spare pair of wheels for one trailer than having multiple sets for 3 trailers.

alot of the contractors i know run hook trailers because of their versatility. you can cart anything you can fit in a hook bin and if it dont fit put it on a plant deck. if i had the cash i would have one rather than having a tipper trailer with a crane and then borrowing a beavertail for moving 360's and a mulcher about.

one trailer so keep one load of parts in stock in the workshop rather than a load of spare wheels/ tyres for 3 different trailers and loads of spare brakes, bearings whatever. the fella has a chieftan lowloader, herbst dump trailer, and a timber trailer do you think they all run the same components??

ah, the spec is all arisings to be removed off site so a mowing schedule can start within a year. i wanted to mulch the lot initially but now they require it all to be left as bare ground as not to interfere with the regrowth of grass.

i used to drive a 3220 fastrac with a hookloader designed for the army by richard western or bunnings, weighed loads but built like a tank. surprisingly didnt cut the ground up too much as it was on wide tyres and it lifted more on the hook than anything else i have ever seen. like others have said its not ideal for roadside work due to the length of it all but if you got the space then why not, save yourself a fortune on consumeable trailer parts like tyres and brakes.

so is there a maintenance schedule ie regular mowing after the clearance is done?? curious as i got a 10 acre monument to clear this winter.

nice work, did you have to clear / burn all the arisings or could you leave as mulch?

paid 250 each for 2 the week before last, if you can get them off a site rather than through a container company then you will save a few quid. going rate seems to be 850+ for weathertight ones.

i just had 2 x 20footers delivered last week, got them direct from a building site as they were in the way for the next phase of work and wanted shot of them. They cost me 250 each with 50 quid delivery. With regards to the condensation, a few vents in the sides help as does a dehumidifer. My mate has a straight clean 30foot container for sale but its had a conversion to office/tea room for site works, thats not alot of money if your interested. its also wider than a standard container from what i remember.
