  1. Trailers under 3.5t need iva or type approval.
  2. Where did that part of the quote come from?
  3. The trailer has to be purpose built.
  4. 1.9 When does IVA not apply? • Agricultural or forestry tractors, their trailers and interchangeable towed machinery, together with their systems, components and separate technical units and trailers designed and constructed specifically to be towed by them. • Quadricycles. • Tracked vehicles. • ‘Incomplete’ vehicles (except until October 29th 2014 in respect of an incomplete Heavy Goods Vehicle) • Old vehicles (i.e. passenger cars and light goods vehicles over 10 years old and large goods vehicles over 25 years old). IVA does not apply but is optional for the following : • Vehicles designed and constructed for use principally on construction sites or in quarries, port or airport facilities. • Vehicles designed and constructed for use by the armed services, civil defence, fire services and forces responsible for maintaining public order. • Mobile machinery. Mobile machinery needs to have an ability to move itself.
  5. I was looking for a mobile processor & wanted the woodmill version or other similar cheap ones. After actually checking with DVSA re the IVA I can confirm that one is needed as the plant exemption does not cover this type of trailer..
  6. Its is still a trailer. It needs an IVA. It does not come under plant.
  7. If it was covered by an Agri exemption it would be speed limited to sub 25mph (if I remember right).
  8. Easily, its a trailer & needs an IVA or similar.
  9. The prize for old thread resurrection (9 years old) & placing an advert goes to.........

  17. My reason for being present in this group is lost on you. PS humour is normally more obvious if you add an emoji
  18. Wow what are you on?
  19. Yes they can, they are also exempt Tacho as they only move short distances between jobs.
  20. The police / DVSA solution to that is, issue ticket let court sort it out at your cost.
  21. This thread has raised an important question. If you as an employer knows that one of your workers likes a toke or two & you allow them to drive for you (company vehicle or even their own but for work use) would you be corporately liable if anything happened? Our local force use drug wipe tests to check for compliance if you have been stopped. Or if an issue happens re saws, chippers or just slack working practice.
  22. You cant be a stonner & drive. Not for long anyway.
  23. Up rating from the lower legal limits to higher legal limits.
  24. Its perfectly fine. As said they are doing this stuf all the time. Some are just paperwork & others need bits up rating. It will also be on the V5c so its official.
  25. THIS
