  1. Then dont buy crap. Pure is pure but adverts lie. Ps I have had mine on a scope and its pure.
  2. I experienced that for the first time this week.
  3. I guess that depends how many cycles / bats you need in a day. For my work processing two is plenty to last all day. At home using it to trim / ring up, 3 bats on a cycle will keep me going. To last all day with no charges would need a heck of a lot. Thats with a 220. To be honest with two bats I am ready for a break to let them catch up. Having used pure and modified with various kit, it might not need pure but will work better and for longer on it. I guess the best option is to ask Sthil about it and if it would effect warranty
  4. Quite possible true. But the 500 is not cheap, is it worth the risk? The makita type were made as building site chargers so designed for iffy supply.
  5. Leave it in the truck
  6. Electric start?
  7. I would prefer a VSR SPLIT CHARGE RELAY 12V 140A 140 AMP VOLTAGE SENSITIVE CAMPERS CAMPERVAN VSR WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Note: The benefit of this type of relay is that it does not require a connection to the alternator or any modifications to the...
  8. Chargers as much less efficient on modified waves than sine wave. More heat produced per watt consumed so less in to the battery. The AL500 is also not just a dumb charger like for your car bat. I agree a small genny seems the best way. Also good for the kettle My earlier calcs were based on the 300s battery.
  9. If you load from the end you will loose a large % of your storage as access path. Load from the side & every m2 is usable for storage. Large over hang with gapped paneling, pref louvered (but costly) or Yorkshire so you stop virtually all driving rain. Fit proper drainage channels under the paneling / just inside so it cant pool into shed.
  10. The problem with this approach is you wont know you have killed the battery till the inverter cuts out at about 10v instead of stopping at 12.2v ish. Roughly not allowing for large load on a small battery effect you should get 2.5 charges from a 110ah battery that is fully charged. Your going to have a 40 ish amp load. I would limit it to two charges to be sure & even then you are pushing the battery hard. Use a deep cycle one not a started battery. If jump leading it make sure you up the revs as tickover is not enough to charge. Split charger is a good idea to ensure you arrive with a full battery. But it wont recharge one during the day without being on for a long time, so run engine on all charges not just when you see volts are low. Size split charger for max draw. Voltage sensitive split chargers are much better than alternator bat+ controlled ones.
  11. Small genny sounds like the best idea. Or if still available the replacement alts that make 240ac.
  12. Yes. In a small woodland.
  13. That style of 12v plug is limited to 10amp / 120 watts & they get hot at that.
  14. Have you also looked at how quick you will flatten one 110ah battery? At best you will get 1 hour of charge time to 50% SOC. Less as you are pulling a big current.
  15. That Krieger looks like most cheap imports do. A quality brand 1200 watts would be more like £400. However you could use a low power one from a better make. An 800w Victron at about £260.
  16. Def pure sine wave & I would say use a quality brand too. Stihl missed a trick when they did not offer a 12v charger system. i charge at home via an inverter but its 48v 10,000 watts
  17. I mainly used the 50% mesh type but have tried the full mesh ones too. The non mesh sides do go first. Not tried the stripes ones as they did not look good to me.
  18. More interested to know how you made the bags last 8 years. Do you keep them inside all year out of the UV? First ones I used lasted a couple of years but after that the new ones fall apart after one use, filled in early spring & used following winter. Lots will split when moved. Stored outside in sunlight.
  19. If I ever have to comply that would be my plan.
  20. True but the letter is designed to put clients off. Who wants to buy a load that needs to be seasoned for 2 years? Should just say needs seasoning till its 20%.
  21. I doubt contract to supply will be allowed. The intent is they season it if delivered in 2m3+ loads. If you are still delivering in small loads that does not hold much water. Do you want to be the test case for us all?
  22. 2m3 per delivery so no.
  23. I bought the 220 for the power, length & thicker bar & chain.
  24. Hardly surprising its a monster of a machine. Feels like a jet pack on your back. Its got double the n rating (whatever that is) of the biggest battery one. My use would be for blowing the processor off & cleaning up on the last day. Really want to try one & see what its like before I decide. That or fuel up the Br800 I have & see if its major over kill. But then its used. Not sure if the battery would be up to that or not but having another 1 or 2 bats that can be used in the chainsaw would also be handy. One less fuel to carry too.
  25. Any mileage in using the cleanings to fire the kiln? Save on using good wood.
