  1. I recently won a BR800 but have not put fuel in it yet. Cant make my mind up to either use it or sell it & buy a BGA200 battery one with bats & adapter ect.
  2. L100 or the 186f clone. Thats my plan when mine gives up. I have a few L100's from generators that have busted. Down side for me is that I will also have to up grade to braked axles at the same time as the wp30 is right on the 750kg limit.
  3. My experience of the diesel versions like 186f over the L100 is that they are generally fine but the ancillaries like starter motor, wiring, HP fuel pipe ect let them down. They seem to do about 50% of the hours but cost about 30% of a genuine item. For a low hour user they make great sense. It will fall apart before you wear it out. If your going to run it all day every day then genuine looks the better option.
  4. Its like they want to make it complicated. They (DVSA) wont even give 100% advice re situations yet they are supposed to know 100% whats what.
  5. PPS you can tow exempted every day.
  6. Re O licence exemption. Best one is the small trailer one. If the trailer is under 1020kg (might be 1040kg I can never remember which one is which) unladen weight & vehicle is =<3500kg you are exempt up to the vehicle being 7500kg at which point virtually all exemptions end.
  7. Never listen to scare stories. First exemption you need. If you are in scope for tacho but its your own goods / tools for your work & your main job is not driver then as long as you are within 100km of your main base you are exempt. Other exemptions could apply but you need to ensure you meet the reasons. In your case as long as its your digger (inc hired) & you are going to use it & not drop it off then go to another job then you could be ok within 100km's radius.
  8. £780 id for the driving licence not the O licence. I think that is more like £400. Yearly mileage does not affect it. Its radius of each journey for tacho. There are rules re 6 weekly check being 12 weekly but I dont know what they are. The 6 week check does not have to be a full work up, its an agreement between you & the garage re needs. You can do them yourself if you have facilities.
  9. If you do need tacho & O licence you might as well up rate it and be able to carry more. For the low cost a C1 (all up around £780) & C1E (an extra £350-650) will cost.
  10. PS a 5.2T tipper is not going to have much legal payload down plated to 3500kg. Less than a 3500kg one.
  11. If you drive in the day that is in scope then all day is in scope & you need tacho card in. If you drive one day in a week in scope the all that weeks hours need to be recorded. I think also the week before / after to be fully compliant but for an occasional user your unlikely to go over the hours but its up to you to prove you have not. You will need to read the card every 21 days & the head every 90 days. If stopped be ready to explain all non card hours. Are you not exempt tacho or do you go to far / carry other peoples goods?Do you need O licence too?

  13. Unless he's moved he's in Canada. Doh,
  14. So a C licence. Might as well gone big if you have the licence for up to 32,000kg. PS when it was imported did they add a GTW on the V5c & the weight plate? Lots did not get this done.
  15. Tractor driving is an area I have not gone into as the local college tends to cover it. Most contact courses especially driving ones have stopped for this lockdown
  16. Odd, i am using chrome
  17. with text & price under all of them?
  18. Rob, Your 404 chain page needs work. Cant read what they are.
  19. yes I think it says deliveries of over 2m3
  20. Basically going to do the same but just wanted a ball park to start with. Most tractor ones I am finding are 1-1 1-1.5ish & 1-1.9ish What the sheet really made clear for me was that there is only about a 200 engine rpm range that each gear will work in from pto to slow to too fast no matter what tractor box ratio you use. So it might be that the engine has to run at a higher speed than actually needed so it does not drop on load as it has no governor to up the fuel. ALso made apparent was that if your not careful with tractor box gearing you could have a dead rpm zone that no gear works in to you end up at say 1600rpm when 1200-1400 would have been fine.
  21. I use the agri places a lot already. Ebay only have one suitable in America.
  22. Few arb's will have a vehicle capable of legally delivering 2m3 of fresh cut arising logs/rings/lengths. So it will be trailer loads needing BE licences pushing up costs / reducing simplicity. As arising take so much extra labor from felling to delivering split logs compared to lengths they are basically worthless until they are processed. More a liability than an asset.
  23. The fuel tanks on gx's can let water in via the cap. Or condensation in carb. Drain carb.
  24. Sorry it was more of a can YOU not can it be done. Not everyone kilns their own or has kiln close to storage ect. I have big worries re heating a big barn & moisture / mould.
  25. I think most of the policing done by woodsure will be via customer complaints. Looking further up at the costs you could screw a supplier by complaining as each one costs them money.
