  1. That's the last of my pictures. I can run it up ramps into the back of a transit and tow a tracked chipper. Making it a great combo for work where the timber and chip can stay on site. Three guys two bits of plant and only one vehicle.
  2. If you turn the machine sharply on wet grass yes it will cause damage. A good dry lawn will withstand driving on it for a day after that you will get wear. I generally have plastic boards so I can turn on such as by the truck do a 180 and then back to the pile of wood.
  3. As promised Billy a few from today. I put a 362 on the log for scale. I cut the log the roughly how wide a transit is.
  4. The original grab was alway bending and snapping tynes. This one not a chance they are pretty big. I'm using it today I will try to take some pictures. I have a weight plate on the back where you stand to increase the lift capacity and for big bits an extra guy of two on the back helps.
  5. I was struggling to find a fork and grapple man enough for tree work so I had a fabrication company make this for me.
  6. Try these people I have a Sherpa which run the same attachment bracket and are very alike http://lancastria-group.co.uk/lancastria-landmac/sherpa-mini-loaders/
  7. Martyn Honey does mine I'm Guildford based but he would be happy to come Bracknell way?
  8. I run a 7015 wheeled machine I can't fault my Carlton it rips through stumps all day long. I would buy the biggest machine you can afford
  9. Cheers Steve my guys think I'm OCD with TM!
  10. Even with the set up we had this week we still had pedestrians walking down the road. And the best was a guy on a moped not wanting to wait at the lights who tried to ride down the pedestrian walk way. I stopped him pretty quickly the knob head! To set a site up like this I don't think is that expensive in terms of cost for signage as you can factor it in over a few years as an investment in safety. I think I win jobs as I'm not the type of company who says I will drop that tree on a Sunday stopping the traffic when it's not busy. I would always opt for lights etc. I recently put an advert on a well know arb selling site on facebook advertising that I could get my hands on over 500 pedestrian barriers at around £5-10 each depending on quantities which I think is cheap! To which I had no replies at all. This all goes to show the people who use the buying and selling site don't see the barriers as a vital tool when working on roads. Now if I was selling an old ms 200t I would of had countless replies to the ad!
  11. I agree, in our industry very few people in my area bother putting guys through the street works ticket etc. A lot of them think ignorance is bliss when it comes to traffic and pedestrian control and a tree cutting sign put out in the road means they can stop traffic and walk around in the road. On the other hand doing things by the book can be restricting when it comes to a roadside job. Here's a few pics of our site this week it took 5 guys around 30/40 minutes to set up. We used around 40 pedestrian barriers which didn't gone us a great amount of working space. As the boss set up and take down time greatly eats into our tree working day. However if something happened I feel we ticked all of the boxes for TM to have minimal come back to me!
  12. I will have a look, that's with the sun going down at 4.30 yesterday so low light levels too!
  13. Thanks, having a extensive CCTV and alarm system is great. Before when is used to get that feeling something wasn't right I would need to go to the yard to check. Now it's on my phone or IPad I can relax and keep tabs on things.
  14. That's mine too, you always need toys for all types of jobs
  15. I took delivery of my new to me 130 today, a few bits to sort out and stick a winch on the front and we will be taking her out to play with the trees.
  16. I could give you a good day rate for me and my 70hp carlton I'm based in Guildford my van isn't sign written? Thanks Rhys 07974102026

  18. I've just had one for 4 months as a free loan machine whilst I wait for my tw230 and it was awful. The turn table was a bonus but everything else not good. The machine struggled to chip to the front of a transit. Mud guard fell off on day three as the weld snapped, blocks up on leafy stuff even with sharp blades, fuel filler point at an angle designed for a petrol pump so it took two guys to comfortably fill up with a doctored funnel, 14 litre fuel tank ran dry on day one, very flimsy metal. Side rollers take a bit of getting used to if you put short lengths of wood in as it tended to hit your fingers on the side of the hopper but that's because I'm used the top and bottom rollers. Now the 230 is a much better machine
  19. Mathias and son in tilford, nr Farnham Surrey are great I don't buy from anyone else
  20. Where's the cheapest place in the UK to buy a chainsaw chain breaking anvil? I have moved yards and some where along the way have lost the anvil I have rivet spinner and breaker but no anvil. I have seen them online for a tad under £30 which does seem quite steep. Cheers everyone
  21. Three year warranty which dealer is offering three years? I've only seen two offered. Cheers
  22. Cheers guys so far, the only negative I have heard is that the pipe to the bearings from the greaser hasn't been long enough on two machines and pulled off when the rollers opened up to take a big log or fork for the first time. A mere teething problem I think.
  23. I've been running a tw190 for the last 6 years but now I'm starting to run a couple of teams I need a sub 750 chipper. I've read reviews on the chipper but not a lots been put on here for a while. So how are you guys who use or own find the 230 as a chipper? Are there any bad points to put me off? Cheers
  24. I just got back from holiday to find the tipping body had sheered off from its hinges at the back while I was away, use and abuse from tree work
