  1. Happy new year everyone, ive just been given a new sktlotec passo-pl karabiner, to look at it a really nice looking karabiner with a good attention to detail with the SKYLOTEC logo branding, because lets face it looks sell. Then to the new PINCH LOCK design and mechanism of the 3 way locking gate, I feel its very different to any other 3 way locking gate on the arb market. As you all know good climbing practice requires us to use 3 way action karabiners (as a minimum) as attachment points to our life line and lanyard (lanyard only when changing branches and its your only attachment point). The movements of the gate are two buttons directley opposite each other on either sides of the barrell/gate, to open the gate these buttons are pinch in any sequence or together at the same time making the two movements and the third (last) as with any karabiner the opening of the gate. click on the link below and have a look at the video i found on line and let me know what all you proffesionals think? or employers, what do you think of your climbers using this karabiner??? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzMKFp6askE]Skylotec PassO-PL.mov - YouTube[/ame] i have my view, but i won't post that yet as i want to see the opinions here without me starting it on a negative or positive vibe. Thanks everyone

  10. Thanks for the info so far, I should think it is pritty dense wood I was shocked by the weight!!
  11. Is this a burr, fasciation or something else?? could this of killed the branch? the pictures arn't great but theres a blower for scale i removed it from a dead oak branch this week, it took two of us struggling to lift it over the tailgate of a transit to give you a slight idea of weight. ive cut a slither off to have a look under the bark and that seemed pritty solid with nice markings, is there a market for this lump of wood? turning or something else it seems a shame to let it go to waste. is anyone out there interested in it? located in Farnham, Surrey thanks
  12. Hi everyone, i have a brand new stihl FS550 brushcutter/ clearing saw for sale. it comes with a metal cutting head, harness and all of the tools you would normaly get with a brand new stihl. This is the biggest clearing saw stihl make. Its a realy beast of a machine and makes light work of clearing large dense areas. im selling it because last september we were broken into and they took my trusty 550 which a replaced the following week out of my own pocket because i typically (sods law) i needed one for a clearing job. the insurance company have now replaced all of the stolen items and this brand new clearing saw in now surplus to requirements. the book price is £1,075.00 excluding VAT or £1,290.00 including VAT. im open to sensible offers I paid shy of £1,100.00 for my other one with the VAT. i havnt got any pictures as its still all pack up, but i can take pictures if anyone needs them. The brushcutter is located in Farnham, Surrey and a full vat invoice will be given or cash on collection might just save you the 20% VAT!! thanks Rhys:thumbup1:

  24. thanks for your views. we only had the camera man for 2 hours so i thought a fell would make for the best watching. it would of been good to of had some before and after video of some reductions but time was an issue. and as said it may of made for boring watching tickling the ends off some branches.
