  1. Hi I removed a cedar tree last week and here is a picture of the stem if any one is interested in the timber? It is currently sat in our yard just out side Guildford. Cheers Rhys
  2. Chilli penguin stoves are some of the most efficient on the market I have their biggest model and it's great. I think it's called a chilli 7?
  3. I can recommend Bristow Burrell chartered accountants on Walnut Tree Close Guildford. They are not the cheapest but they do a great job and very thorough
  4. Hi can any one help me out, I ground out this ash stump but there was a coal shed on one side so I couldn't get the last bit. The coal shed has now been removed and unfortunately I don't have time to finish the job off. Here us a couple if pictures the soil around the stump can be moved if it makes it easier to get a machine lower? Please PM me Thanks Rhys
  5. I may have a big site clearance coming up and before I commit to the job I'm looking for a place near by to tip 15 ish transit loads of chip and 4 ish hiab loads and a few transit loads of timber prob about 40-50 tons of wood ranging from horse chestnut, maple, beech and oak. The larger wood I can be run back to our yard once it's loaded so that's not vital to find a new home for locally. Any help or contacts would be great, please PM me. Thanks every one
  6. Thanks for the replies the wood is now all gone
  7. Can any help id this bracket found at the base of an English oak? Cheers
  8. As per the title Free ash wood/rounds north London N10 Muswell Hill. We are removing an Ash tree tomorrow and Monday for the stump and it's a bit far to bring the wood back to our yard in Guildford prob about 2 transit loads. It will be in manageable sized pieces with great access that you can drive up to if there are any takers on here. With labour on site to help load tomorrow? And if there are any local tip sites for the chip that would be a great help as well? PM me or call 07974102026 Thanks Rhys
  9. I don't think they are burrs they look like old stubs/pegs which have calloused over.
  10. Thanks I will try that, I think in just used to the Sordin earmuffs after 14 years using that brand only.
  11. Hi, I have a pair of peltor arborcoms which are great but I just can't get on with the peltor earmuffs they don't seen to fit tight enough to my face. I can't fault Sordin earmuffs so It's a bit of a long shot; does any one have an old broken set of Sordin arborcoms that I can try to swap over my electrical magic into? Or even a pair that work but don't get used that I can purchase. I've tried the main importers of Arborcom but they can't get hold of (or won't) the bear chassis of the sordins for me to swap the kit across. Any help on this would be great thanks in advance. Thanks Rhys
  12. Hi is any one available to work tomorrow in Godalming, Surrey? You could be a climber, groundy or have no tickets? Call me Rhys 07974102026
  13. Have a chat with Sarron he helped me on a job 2 weeks ago with my skid steer on. It surprised us at what a steep slope it could climb loaded up with wood. The only negative I found is that the muck fork and grapple isn't strong enough and I bent a few tines on uneven loads
  14. I recently got a Sherpa 100 mini loader, it's completely changed moving timber it's actually fun!! I can load it into a transit tipper on ramps so I can tow a chipper or stump grinder on a trailer. It is a skid steer so I just drive it carefully on formal lawns but with floatation tyres it's not a problem. I wouldn't be with out one now.
  15. Thanks for all of the interest the timber is now gone
  16. Hi all, one of my customers in Guildford, Surrey has a large beech in their front garden. Which unfortunately needs to come down due to ustulina and the proximity to their house. This tree is well loved by my client who is sad to see it go. They have asked if I can find someone to produce done things for. The wood eg- bowls, chainsaw carving from the stem/stump, mill the wood to make a bench? Is this of interest to any one of course this is paid work. If so please contact me via PM and if you have pictures of previous works or a website I can forward it to my customer.
  17. Hi I've got two wind blown cedar trees we are clearing next week starting the 3rd march in Chobham Surrey is this of interest to any one? We will be on site all week except Tuesday. I would say the stems are approx 1.5 m in diameter and very straight access is good. PM me please Thanks Rhys
  18. Hi, are you working the lines as a climber? line clearance will get you a lot of climbing to get to grips with work positioning but it's not refined tree work it's very trigger happy from my experience. Some people love it and some people do it for a while and then move into back garden tree work. If your in Surrey I'm looking for a groundsman to come on board and move up the ranks to become a climber. Or even if you would like a few days experience of tree work that's not line clearance we are based in Godalming?
  19. Hi everyone I run a small company based on Godalming, Surrey serving domestic and commercial clients. We work at a very high standard with good attention to detail a working as a close team. Due to increased work loads I'm looking for either- Someone who is looking to get into arboriculture starting on the ground and working their way up if they aspire to be a climber. This will be as an employee either with experience or with out. Tickets and all the relevant training will be given to the right candidate after a probationary period. Or a grounds person who is already qualified and has relevant tickets to carry out tasks on the ground. Further training and tickets will be offered during the employment to further yourself in the industry. Or self employed ground staff or climbers to ease the current work load on an adhock basis. Wages will depend on experience and work ethics, I look forward to your replies via PM Rhys, Charterhouse Tree Care

  22. We have had no power for 20 hours, no land line and vodaphone came back on line 3 hours ago. Im on about my 23rd emergency call and I'm putting them onto other companies. We did a pretty dodgy euc in the wind yesterday which was probably pushing it. Me and my lads have had a very busy end to the year and are all in holiday mode. No amounts of money is getting me back to work before the new year there are so many companies in Surrey customers won't struggle to find some one.
  23. Cheers for your help I bought a 190 TFTR today so the search is over 👍
  24. They seem a really good company and they would of picked up on all the faults I think it was just that they are understaffed at the mo. With a lot of machines in the go
