  1. I had a look at their 190, I went to have a look under the impression it just needed a new track roller and it had been reconditioned but found a catalogue of faults some pretty major from 2 large cracks in the chassis they had missed. And the machine had just had an engine service. They seemed genuinely apologetic and it was due to being under staffed and cross wires from the work shop to sales people. It seemed every thing that could go wrong on a demo did!!
  2. Has anyone had any experience with arbor cut in Hampshire?
  3. Cheers for the reply, they don't have one at the mo.
  4. Hi all, I'm looking for a secondhand tracked timberwolf 190 does any one have one for sale or know of one? I've had a look on a few dealers websites and looked at one. Which had a few problems from a hard life of utility work. But I'm at a dead end for now! Any help would be great Thanks

  12. Hi im looking ideally for a qualified climbing arborist or grounds person for an almost imediate start for the right candidate. The climber must have all relevant climbing and chainsaw Units and the grounds person needs chainsaw units for the ground and aerial rescue. Im looking for someone with experience in all aspects of tree surgery but willing to offer on the job training for the right candidate. With the chance to learn to further themselves and become a climber if the grounds person wants to get off the ground. But most of all I want some one who is punctual, curtious, can follow instruction and has common sense when it comes to tree work Wages are negotiable depending on experience. Or if you know of someone looking for a job please let me know Thanks Rhys Charterhouse Tree Care 07974102026 01252 790494
  13. I just brought a 7015 yesterday it is a beast of a machine. It depends on how deep they require the stumps grinding down to!
  14. Nigel, I will pm you the inspectors name in a few days. We are just clarifying a few things. Thanks for the input
  15. thanks for all of the comments, is this a true three way karabiner tho? is the 3 way recognized by the 3 individual moving parts of opening or the three movements of the person opening the gate?? i thought we may of had some input from some kit dealers about this biner but so far no joy
  16. Okay, I've just had my loler done and I put this karabiner in just to see what was said and ....... It failed, not suitable for ppe, only to be used for tool attachment. This loler was done by a big name in the arb industry who has 10s and 10s of years experience with new kit. Need I say more!! I can open the gate with a loose spliced eye moving over the gate with minimul weight only 5 meters of rope pulling down, not good and not safe in my eyes but what do I know.
  17. i worry how easy it is to open the gate Frankie would probably say as well how light the buttons need to be touched and not all of the way down to open the gate. They are amazing if speed and ease of opening was in mind when making them but has safety been pushed to one side for this, in order to sell a new karabiner. when does it become too easy to open a gate, that it could be opened by accident unknowingly in a tree especially with new climbers
  18. thats interesting, maybe tomorrow someone in the know will answer that. i think they are being supplied by fletcher stewarts if they can add to the discussion.
  19. its a good point about the flip line or side strop but if you were to use it to advance up the tree when changing over only having this karabiner as your main attachment would you feel confident? if you couldnt see the karabiner maybe due to ivy etc. i also get what you are saying as to only using it on a wire flip line when chogging down etc so you always have another attachment point. but thats a bit of a one use karabiner to buy a bit like a 2 way snappy you see on flip lines
  20. thanks for the reply steve, yeah theres no disputing the three actions but as you said its very easy to open. The buttons are over half the gate in length and only need a light touch to open. i wonder what the buttons will be like in daily use in tree work with grit, sap and debris? would one button stick down only making it a 2 way action or at worst both buttons become sticky therefore making the karabiner in effect a snappy??????? another point is new climbers who not yet have full trust in their climbing kit, we have all been there at first not wanting to put all of our weight in our climbing line and using the tree more for climbing. Therefore putting slack in our system and the chance of ropes/prussiks moving around the karabiner and loading it at different points and maybe both buttons could be pushed or the rope and a branch on say a lime with loth of re- growth.
