Very good question. No idea. I'm sure there's thousands of books and now websites devoted to interpreting dreams though, if you were that way inclined. I don't recall ever having anything to do with a mobile phone either, though I tend not to remember dreams once I've woken. I used to frequently dream of flying. A mega jump that then became all out flying through the air. Used to love that, they were the best dreams. Not had one like that for years now sadly.

A difficult firewood/tree identification question! We have quite a few on here, that was one of the harder ones. Ash is good, but so is almost any other firewood if it's seasoned well. Get it all cut, split and stored somewhere dry as soon as you can. Reckon you should have a good couple of years supply there, depending on your consumption rate.

I think you're mixing up correlation with causation again JD. Though I agree that the explosion of mental health issues for children is a huge problem that needs addressing. Now. I don't believe that "messed up pandering nonsense is what results in kids suffering from record levels of mental health issues". Not at all. Social Media is the main root cause of that and the mistaken, (in some cases but not all) belief that a young person needs to identify as an alternative gender/sexuality. I'd draw a diagram if I knew how to do it on here. A triangle with three points and two arrows. Masquerading as a parent doesn't really come into it. If it does it's a very small factor. It could be argued that not pandering could add to the mental anguish actually. After all, you can't pander to a belief that isn't already there. (If there is that belief already then it must have come from something else). I've never heard of any cases of parents actively encouraging their kinder to want to identify as something else just for the sake of it. Bringing it back to POTUS. His little bunch of tame Social Media barons are the real villains of the piece here. The crap that they're inundating kids with is what's causing the mental health epidemic for them. (Kids are having a rough time if it right now, what with that and the obesity epidemic caused by UPF. They shouldn't have to deal with all this shit at their tender age.) Not to mention all the other harms stemming from Social Media as well. And it's about to get a whole lot worse, just look what Musk and Zuckerberg have been up to in the last few weeks. Who needs fact checking?

Is no one else intrigued by why this has become such an issue now? It can't all be down to social media crap surely. What is missing from young people's life's now? Puberty wasn't great, but it wasn't that bad either apart from the spots. At no point did I or any of my contemporaries even consider trying to identify as a Woman/Furry/gender fluid being or whatever.

I don't fully get the gist of what you're saying here, but I think you're alluding to age. Like you, I'm "of an age", just a few years older than you I think. Regarding DEI. I agree, I think in some cases it gets taken too far and approaches BS, DEI for the sake of DEI. True sometimes for the BBC it seems. In the private sector though I can't see it being an issue, companies will recruit the best candidate for the job, regardless of colour or gender. As has been said a few posts back. Anyway, over enthusiastic DEI is far better than outright discrimination. Like the 100 year regression in human rights that your Demagogue is trying to push through. I've never understood why some people feel so threatened by the whole LBGQT+XFCIS thing. Bemused yes, threatened no. Why has it become such a thing now? I'm more concerned by why so many young people feel so unhappy in their own bodies, so much so that they need to "identify" as something else. (There are of course plenty of "genuine" cases, I'm happy that those people can now come out and be true to themselves without fear or favour. For now anyway, as of this week the future doesn't look so rosy). To me its got to be at least partly the symptom of some underlying wider malaise. The world is ****************ed up for sure, but is it really as simple as society as a whole just being too divorced from nature and too intent on overconsumption of social media and everything else? This is a much more interesting discussion than the black and white "DEI is bad, Trump is good/god" mantra. I'm not a fan of the pink brick either. Though it's slowly growing on me.

Anyway back to DEI. JLR have fully embraced the concept, just look at the current Jaguar advertising campaign. Talk about disruptive. It'll be interesting to see how it all works out in time. I'm sure the car will be technically brilliant, but aesthetically, it's not even in the same league as the E-Type. It was never going to be though so they've probably gone bold in other ways as they're resigned to that.
