  1. I've just decided to try some fermented chilli source to make use of the glut.
  2. Chillies are doing fantastically this year.
  3. I've considered Okra a couple of times, but dismissed it as didn't think it would be worth the effort in the British climate. I imagined it would need tropicalish conditions, i.e. hot and quite wet. Have you been giving them lots of water? They nice veg to eat.
  4. That's industrial jam making. How do you go about taking all the thousands of stones out? It must take forever with that amount. (I've a vague memory of asking you this same question in a previous year, but I forget the answer! Apologies if so).
  5. Nice. Our tree is laden now, first decent crop on it for years. I was thinking to start picking this weekend.
  6. I've just checked ChatGPT and it suggested Oregon Mountain Beever anus grease. Not sure where you'll find some of that at this time on a Friday night though.
  7. Wordle 1,517 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟨🟩⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟩🟩🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  8. I saw one big one on Tuesday night. But I only sat outside for about 10 minutes.

  10. Nah, I remember that story too. Though not the details. Whatever it was it'll sadly just be a small sawtooth of an uptick in an overall downward trend.
  11. Wordle 1,516 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜🟩⬜ ⬜⬜🟨🟩⬜ ⬜⬜🟨🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Well, bloody hell, wasn't expecting that. My favourite.
  12. Result. Migrant promoting Channel crossing on TikTok has account removed WWW.BBC.CO.UK The man filmed himself making the voyage and later live streamed a question-and-answer session on the platform.

    Jokes???

Half of the humour was on the t-shirts I thought. Just seen a bloke wearing this slogan -
  14. Looks like a Constable painting.
  15. Bolognese made with Turkey mince. We've got a glut of Basil, hence the heavy garnish. Turkey is underrated and under used I think. Having slices of dry old breast meat just once a year is silly. The thigh is much better and versatile; minced or diced it's a good substitute for pork or beef.

  18. Meanwhile, in other news, stuff is turning white. It turns out that bad news is not always about stuff turning black. Worst coral bleaching on record for Western Australian reefs WWW.BBC.CO.UK Scientists say the damage was caused by the "longest, largest and most intense" marine heatwave on record.
  19. Leeks. They're nice just fried up with some cabbage, like onions but sweeter. Even nicer with some lardons or pancetta added as well.
  20. Wordle 1,506 5/6 ⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  21. Does anyone know of any traditional uses of Eucalyptus timber, that reflected it's great strength? Thinking about Elm being used for cartwheel naves, hubs, etc. I'm guessing not as there was no technological civilisation in Australia until Britain took over.
  22. I don't know what all the fuss is about. Would you look at that? Boom! Wordle 1,505 2/6 🟨🟨🟨⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
