Anyone else got one yet. What a brilliantly simple but ultra affective piece of kit. Thanks to Clarks Forestry for such a good product. Massive thumbs up.
  7. If you have downloaded iBooks onto your iPhone or IPod, you can now access the downloadable stuff from the Treemagineers website as the iBooks has a built in PDF viewer. You can now carry the 28 page "hitchclimbers guide to the canopy" around in your mobile cellular device to browse at your leisure. Amongst other stuff, there are some interesting articles on shock forces in rigging etc etc. Might be of interest to other like-minded Treeks(tree geeks) like myself.
  8. Rise above it. Stay one step ahead. Make sure you do everything you can to make sure that these letters Can NOT affect your business.
  9. Well done Wolfman. A really good amount for the first Item I think. May it continue.
  10. Now then Big Fell. I havent bought an xmas tree since we got our fibre optic jobbie from Hammonds 4 years ago. Am I a bad person?? Haha.
  11. These are all good ideas however, they all involve felling alot and replanting. How bout exploring some of the other ideas for utilising the woodland as it is. Walks, talks, etc etc.
  12. Putting a swing cheek pulley somewhere down the main stem to put the running end of the lowering line through on the way to capstan/lowering device helps keep things neat and tidy for the ground staff. Art and Science of practical rigging is an invaluable book. Get it.

  14. Yale Double Esterlon. Dont skimp on lowering rope.
  15. Are you meaning personally or do you mean Arbtalk members becoming the new Privately owned Forestry commision???
  16. Off to "pick" up (s'cuse the pun) a new small one and a long one up today. If you are splitting small stuff with a hand held maul like the Gransfors one, these are great when you get confident enough to have the pick in one hand and the axe in the other, pick - split - knock off - pick - split - knock off.
  17. I bid £20 for the slacks. If they are indeed a size medium.
  18. There an old saying (not sure how old or if its actually a proper saying) : " Id rather be frazzled to nothing in an instant by HV cables, than melt slowly on LV cables". I might have just made that up in my head, but you understand what I mean. Do not mess.
  19. Im not even allowed to buy more than 3 bags of compost at one time. Haha.
  20. Brilliant. Are we taking bets on how long till they come or just if they come??
