  1. I`m starting the level 4 diploma soon and was wondering if anyone has a reading list from last year they wouldn't mind sharing. Thanks
  2. If they were that good I doubt they`d be doing cold call sales. I`d say if you are going to pay to get your site optimized get it done by somebody who has been recommended to you. However, I haven`t used them.
  3. Am I the only one struggling to access this? I`ve done the registration and it says I have access to the documents but none of them will download, I just get a blank screen.
  4. If you have the chance to get a decent qualification I would take it. You may not get a good chance like that for a long time.
  5. I`m currently looking to fill my diary up a bit more. NPTC Cs 30, 31 ,38, 39, 41. Lantra Chipper ticket and bats and arboriculture up to date LOLER and first aid. I have 10 years experience working in domestic and commercial arboriculture including working for several AA approved contractors. Prompt and hard working. I am willing to travel around Gloucestershire, Bristol and surrounding areas. For more information you can PM me or contact me on 07818 078959 Thanks, Alasdair Nicoll
  6. Good on you for giving someone an opportunity.
  7. I think if you have made it clear you are only a beginner then a company probably shouldn`t expect to have you as it`s main climber unless they expect a shoddy job. This is not a bad reflection on you. Be careful you don`t hurt yourself.
  8. I`ve found these ones to be perfectly good. Sordin ear defenders for helmet chipper 31SNR | F R Jones and Son
  9. Loving the crossbow. Looks like a pleasant job
  10. I tend to compare item prices and then see if I get free p+p. If I need to buy a couple of extra items to get free P+P then I will do so. I have found when buying for example spiderjack parts it makes it worth while including them in a larger order. So in short I look at item price and buy enough for the postage to be included. I have always found your service to be excellent.
  11. I could do with an extra pair of hands on Wednesday. Cs30 an advantage but not essential. You must have your own PPE. Meet up in Stroud, Glos. Please PM me details and rates, Thanks.
  12. When I get a new helmet I just boil up the old one, you get a splendid soup.
  13. Sometimes you have days like that. Just make sure you don`t overwork yourself or you can make mistakes.
  14. The thing with arb interviews is they can be very informal, however, it never hurts to make the effort and if you turn up in work gear and the other guys came in suits then you`ll feel self conscious. Best of luck.
  15. If I was you I`d get a price to hire a stump grinder for the day (not the ones that are a disk cutter attached to a granny trolley, they`re rubbish) and a price to have someone come and grind it out for you. You may find it works out easiest to have it done professionally.
  16. You could go suited and take a change of clothes to work in if needs be. If in doubt ask. What is expected can be rather variable in arb work.
  17. Tree Surgeon Stroud, Tree Services Cheltenham, Tree Surgeon Gloucester, Tree Services Tetbury, Tree Surgeon Nailsworth, Tree Services Painswick
  18. Nice looking site. Tree Surgeon Stroud, Tree Surgeon Cheltenham, Tree Surgeon Gloucester, Tree Surgeon Tetbury Remember that it`s important to spend some time on a site and view a few pages. Google counts a one page view as a bounce and therefore lowers the ranking.
  19. I`d second that. Just a truck is more useful than just a chipper. If you can afford both then get both. If you can afford one, get a tipper. No chipper just means you can`t get as much stuff in the truck and you generally have to work harder to get rid of that stuff. In the long run both are pretty essential if you are serious about doing your own work. I would also say that sometimes no chipper is better than a rubbish chipper.
