    If it’s maximum capacity is 350kg you’ve got no chance. That’ll be its maximum lift, based on the load being right at the headstock. An IBC places the bulk of the load further away from the machine, reducing capacity.

    I worked for Tilhill (on the books employed) cutting power lines many moons ago and we had a saw allowance - we had to supply a groundsaw and top handle every day and I think we got £10 per day at the time. We provided our own fuel/oil/chains etc. It worked out well for both parties in honesty (teams would unofficially group together to buy fuel and oil etc). Tilhill and also the client used to regularly audit teams so everything had to be kept in good order (missing decibel stickers would lead to quarantined machines and docked allowance etc). I’d do it again from either an employee or employer side tbh - providing agreeable terms could be drawn up.

    I don’t think there is a better alternative to the GH1054 on the market - they are a very good trailer. Second hand values are mental too - getting hold of a new one will possibly be your biggest issue…

    My cousin used to drive transfer minibuses in the Alps for a company called Skiidy Gonzales - a brilliant setup, very professionally run. Their USP was that the drivers wore sombreros in Geneva airport to make it easy for newly-arrived travellers to identify their lifts - this MO worked perfectly for years until a disgruntled woke yank took umbrance and pulled the racist card!!! I’m not sure that any Mexicans were harmed or offended at any point during the previous decades, but the hats are now ancient history sadly… Back on topic - my lads and I have all worked today. It was hot. We drank plenty. Nobody died. Who’d have thought?!!!!

    That is a MASSIVE house - wowsers!! Were building control happy with recycled type 1? I though it had to be virgin stone under a house (ridiculously!)?

    A winch and more importantly someone who knows what they are doing to get that down, not difficult with the right knowledge and kit but pretty dangerous if done wrong (there are some dodgy suggestions in this post IMO).

    The last brew of the day is the best when the bag(s) are left in all day. (The only caveat to this is when the teabag has burst unknown to the drinker, usually on days where the flask has had a rough time rolling around in a tractor…). Milton once in a while cleans flasks back to ‘as-new’ - it does say to not use it on stainless steel but I’ve never had a problem.

    I bought a couple of second hand Teupens a few years ago - incredible machines but an absolute nightmare to work on. You are essentially beholden to the UK service agent, who were the worst people I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with in my life. I’d never ever put my money into any Teupen machine again, and would think very very carefully about any large second-hand MEWP that is dependant on circuit boards to operate.

    I can’t see how it can bounce back really - it went mental because millions of ‘investors’ swallowed the hype and bought in, forcing prices ever higher. This massive crash proved that it’s a risky investment and will put off future potential buyers, so there is a far more limited pool of people willing to buy out those who were left holding their overpriced bitcoins who can’t/won’t/daren’t sell until some of there loss has been recovered. I certainly wouldn’t put any money into it.

    To be honest Janey Lee Grace has always annoyed me, I think she’s a bit of a twat…. Love Steve though, and there has never been (and never will be) any better radio feature than ‘Ask Elvis’. FACT!!!

    It’s definitely an expensive toy but it chips faster than a 2.7 tonner can feed it… I’m not convinced by the crane-mounted jobby - this one can’t be crane mounted (and still remain under 3.5 tonnes) as it’s designed to give the most throughput so is a bigger drum-chipper than the lighter disk machine. This can be built on tracks or on a heavier chassis for truck/tractor towing (and you could have the biggest crane in the world then!).

    Yeah, I suppose chopping in a white male for another white male (that is gay) helps tick a box somehow. I can’t listen to Zoe Ball, she’s absolutely terrible IMO. Vernon Kaye has been on this week and he’s much better, but I tend to listen to Radio 4 until 9am (largely because of Zoe Ball!). No way can I listen to Scott Mills at any time of day, he only spouts childish crap…

    Had this on demo today - it’s a very good chipper under 3500kg to be fair! 400x600mm opening, can be crane or hand fed, radio controlled, 140hp etc etc. Good bit of kit, just working out man-maths now…

    I meant have you priced up these Case machines - interesting to see how they compare to other machines in the market as they are essentially a repainted Eurocomach. I’ve got a little Bobcat E27 (not the Z, it’s the more powerful version with a small tailswing) with extra counterweight and Rototilt and that weighs exactly 3 tonnes with the tilty and grab on. It’s good though, can shift a lot of timber in a day with it and it is amazingly stable and powerful for its size. This tilty is actually bigger than you’d need on this sized carrier though - you could save at least 100kg if you fitted the next size down.
