  1. You would need a long cord as once the alpine butterfly was in the bridge would be too short I would think. Should work though mate
  2. Is it wrong I see all that and think' Oohhh, That's a nice hat?' Ha ha
  3. No worries mate. Just didn't want it to go unmentioned. A lot of the time I look at pictures first and not the writing! ! Ha ha!
  4. I was mate but not in that case as, as Drew said, the stitching will do the job. Just thought that if someone new to climbing recreated the picture they might not be as vigilant. Thought it worth pointing out!! Not picking! Ha ha.
  5. The prussik is a great knot to learn on as very little can go wrong with it once its set and dressed properly. The downside is that you have to advance it manually each time you want to acsend. The VT and Distel are knots that are combined with pulleys to enable the knot to "release" and re-grab the line. It means that you are able to pull hand over hand and the weight of the rope below you will self tend your hitch. This is the main reason people use it once they are confident. The reason they are not really taught on CS38 is you need to master the basics of tree climbing before you start to dabble with other systems. As you only have 5 days training on 38, it would be almost impossible to get everyone to a standard to pass while showing all systems. Hope that helps. Tommy:thumbup1:
  6. Just ordered my tickets. Well done to all the sponsers and for organising it again Steve. I know it is a massive effort.
  7. Same as really. Look after your gear and it looks after you. Check rings on cambium saver for any burrs and look for any signs it might not be right on anything.

  16. Take every opportunity to let go of your equipment and trust it. One of the hardest things when you're learning is trusting the kit. It will not fail!! Just be methodical and you'll be fine mate. Good luck!!
