  1. I've seen ones where the hole eye is covered. Will see if I can find a picture
  2. There is a good majority of the industry that can't use a rake properly so I'd say the likelihood of them using a crosscut saw is slim
  3. For the life of me, I cannot get my head round how a locking brummel with a cover is done. I need to see a video if anyone is keen to make one!!
  4. The Guilty of Treeson chap has a very good video about porting a 200t on YouTube for anyone interested
  5. One is 20 and the other is twenty too
  6. Very good! I like that! One is 20 and the other is 22
  7. What's the rope? All splices theoretically can pull out although in practice, it's only really straight buries on Hollow braid which are likely or rigging lines that have a loose cover, which is why they are lock stitched
  8. I'd be well happy with that in fairness
  9. Turns out I'm at the age where I'm over the moon getting a Barbeque cover and Cardigan. Have a good day Arbtalk
  10. "Stop driver and ask for details"
  11. Lots on Instagram. There is The Splice Witch who has done quite a few videos about it
  12. Haven't read that article. Ill give it a look. You could well be right, I only heard about the spring issue
  13. That was the issue Rich. They have a potential to not engage at all because the internal spring wears away at the case
  14. It looked cool didn't it!!
  15. You still climbing Ian or just machinery these days?
  16. Fancied trying this. Was decent. Homemade KFC nuggets. The girls inhaled them😄
  17. Where abouts in the UK are you thinking?
  18. Yes it can. Unless we're talking about different knots in which case I apologise. A sliding double fisherman's knot has the 2 opposing knots in "the middle" and 2 loops on either side so it looks like a bow tie. If the carabiner is clipped into the opposite side, it can pull through. The reason I know this, is from teaching students to climb and watching someone tie this very knot and then having to demonstrate to them what can go wrong.
  19. Plus, if a very specific set of conditions are met, you could clip into the wrong part and it pulls itself out
  20. I use the filtered posts in the activity stream the most
  21. Catalyon hitch
  22. I had Strauss stuff in the past and its decent. Husqvarna one is surprisingly cheaper
  23. Just cancel the Direct Debit and I will

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
