  1. Impressively, I reckon your meme bank is bigger than my vvank bank!
  2. Go for it! as long as you’ve got a unique selling point or specialist niche be it being a frigging awesome climber, unique equipment or something else that only time or a ton of money and risk buys to set you apart from the million and one other established, experienced tree outfits in your county you’ll do fine otherwise I’ll echo what the rest have said, and be happy scrabbling around fighting to be the lowest of 10 quotes for a mornings hedge cutting
  3. Tbh I diddnt realize vanlife included caravans, I thought it was more people converting regular panel vans to campers, maybe ready made ones like a transporter California at a push or is “vanlifer” used as “traveler” is generally associated with pikeys? not interested in buying your own plot of land as a base?
  4. That’s not living, that’s existing imo fair play if you like it though
  5. Tit 5th post, went to the beach to play fetch playing fetch on a hill was one of few ways to knacker my kelpie out. give it some chickens (or children!) to round up got any neighbors?
  6. just get an automatic? a mates got the maxus electric van, loves it
  7. Whichever you get don’t scrimp on attachments, get a few straight away
  8. Yep, get something for sure! why’d you think a digger would be better?
  9. Can’t have your cake (living cheaply in a van) and eat it (permanent place, skipping contributing to society etc) eggs, naive to think so tbh. good for you for doing the van life, but you’re on wheels for a reason
  10. What’s the avant/multi one equivalent?
  11. Check out park4night some places are official sites, others are nice spots people have parked up and got away with it if abroad some countries it’s perfectly legal to park up for the night somewhere public
  12. Just buy direct from Scandinavia, the pounds strong, better quality timber easy to put together (done it a few years back for a mate)
  13. ”The cheaper guy”
  14. Ah thanks, sounds right!
  15. I liked the stihl, even brought a second when the first died, then when the 2nd died I got the echo fantastic saw! it’s what stihl should have produced. get the tesc model and it’ll come with a narrow bar and chain, which as joe said is a must. 99%sure it’s just a rebranded sugihara bar.
  16. You sure the engines running flat out? my old one the rollers would be spinning 5 times faster than that. I do seem to/want to remember that the rollers crept with no power like that when revs weren’t all the way up.
  17. Banks are money grabbing barstewards who definitely do not have their customers best interests at heart. Even their customer advisors are geared up to earn the banks money rather than advise what’s best for their customers. but that’s another subject
  18. @burrell_ rates them, got a couple of the Renault badged versions. search his posts or contact via instagram/Facebook mjc tree care
  19. Did you shift the trailer? what’s the slew on the crane like? (180/270 degrees?)
  20. Looks a great 90 replacement! I really liked the 2.8 in the hilux, both for towing and daily driving
  21. I’m not sure if avants or multi one offer this, but using a finger bar mower on a multi one 7 series was only ok at best, every time you turn, adjust the boom etc it saps power from the attachment, would be handy having a dedicated pump running the attachment line? do you need to transport it on a trailer? Or is it gonna be at the Same place most of the time?
  22. Good decision! If you like your kit and want to use it again once you’ve recovered DONT hire it out! No matter who you hire too they won’t treat it with the same respect you would, resentment builds and friendships fail
  23. That’s just allowing for leakage from the seals getting tired of waiting for the engine to start
  24. If wedging or jacking that’d mean more effort needed to smack the wedge in/Jack pressure as you’re effectively shortening the leaver effect……but you wouldn’t need as much height in the back cut to tip it over
  25. ironically I reckon fr Jones was at the forefront of enticing people away from their local dealers! been a while, but skyland have the best personal service ime
