  1. As I said you need to prove its part of a commercial woodland. Basically the planners are applying standard agricultural conditions to a forestry environment. Yes it is wrong but joe bloggs will not convince them otherwise which is why you need a land agent capable of quoting chapter and verse pointing out the errors of there ways.
  2. That explains a lot. Your planner is looking for a loophole to disallow your permitted development application. The permitted development rules only apply to woodland but for tax purposes christmas trees and coppicing were not classed as woodland. see below BIM67701 - Woodlands: historical overview You definitely need expert advice the key will be to establish the woodland as a "commercial" woodland the easiest way to do that would be by speaking to the forestry commission and possibly enter into one of there woodland management schemes. (You might even get paid peanuts for your time and effort)
  3. I use Gary Hoerty Associates in Clitheroe and rate them very highly.
  4. Is it Forestry Commission land if not I cannot see any reason why the forestry commission would be involved.
  5. Sounds like a letter from a land agent would be in order. On what grounds is he quoting for not carrying on. It might just be the site will need a visit from the building inspector to assess the foundations for approval before the building is erected.
  6. I have a similar machine to Josy123 and I dont think throwing in rings makes a great deal of difference as the actual mouth of the chipper is actually 12 inches by 21 inches so rings can be upto 21 inches wide and 12 inches deep as opposed to tree stems of 12 inch diameter.
  7. I use sawdust or woodchip in my greenhouse overnight burner. The secret to keeping it burning is airflow. I designed my own burner using 2 x 45 gallon drums but the main part is the core which holds the sawdust and woodchip. I found the metal insert of industrial air filters ideal as the mesh is small enough to hold the sawdust and chip but still allow good airflow. I dont see why a similar air filter would not work in your stove.
  8. Al I missed your response but if you care to PM me your comment then I will try to reply.
  9. If you dont want the expense of a timber trailer and have the time to play than a back actor and trailer axle can extract the timber cleanly.
  10. Andy Your not a cynic that is precisely the attitude HMRC have if you are prepared to stand upto them and fight. We have now had 4 years of ongoing HMRC investigations and every time we win they come back on a different more stupid tack. Quite frankly it is now pure harassment which many would have just paid for a quiet life. Fortunately I am a qualified accountant and can prove my point with reference to the specific tax legislation but this type of bullying by HMRC needs to be stamped out which is why I am prepared to take the case to the tax tribunal.
  11. I would imagine it will be used first on the thousands of working tax credit cases which HMRC paid out to much and are now trying to recover by fair means or foul. Fortunately a large quantity of those cases are standing there ground and requiring HMRC to prove that the claim had been fraudulent or write off the amount.
  12. With such a reduction in long term HMRC staff common sense has gone out the window and your left with a lot of incompetent staff who can only manage by the simple tax manual. Unfortunately tax is not simple and legitimate tax avoidance is now being classed as if it was tax evasion.
  13. Not always true you can have a tax liability even when making losses.
  14. If you dont have any joy try Crown Oil. I had problems sourcing hydraulic oil for my MB Trac got the specs from Merc and the chemist at Crown Oil made it up and charged approx £45 for 25 ltrs which for a one off I did not think was bad.
  15. Be very afraid of HMRC. They can do an assessment for tax which they believe you owe and then its up to you to defend the case in a tax tribunal where all the cards are stacked in HMRC favour. Its the only part of UK law that I know where you are assumed guilty and you have to prove your innocence.
  16. Do you have any more details on the trailer. ie make, model, year manufactured, ser no etc.
  17. Compared to mine that 550 is in mint condition. Would like to know what the extra levers are on the far side of the cab below the seat as there not fitted to mine.
  18. Theres a petrol 135 here Tractor Sales If it had been diesel it would already have gone for export. If it was me I would make a cheeky offer saying nobody wants a petrol tractor.
  19. For same price as a 135 I got a MF 550 which is newer but not a collectors item. That said I would rather have my old 4 WD Jinma instead which was far more useful around the farm.
  20. Pity its not on my doorstep otherwise my chipper would make short work of that.
  21. I know the feeling. My timber trailer and MB Trac was parked overnight on the A671 as the nearside front tyre disintegrated. When I returned the following day both had gone I felt totally gutted. Phoned police to report as stolen turns out PC plod had it removed as it was not totally off the highway.Needless to say happy to realise that it was in a secure compound not so happy with the £350 release fee. Added bonus in the process of removal tractor will now only produce 2 bar pressure instead of the normal 6-8 bar. Not been a good week. Hope you also get your kit back as its not a pleasant feeling. Big thanks to Mr Treebus for all the help on getting me back on the road
  22. My Hitachi ex30 has a 3 cyl Yanmar engine in it and there renown for blowing the head gasket. As a temporary solution drop the engine oil and fill up with fresh oil. Do not fill radiator up with more water. If engine runs normally but gets hot after 10 mins then it sounds like you need a new head gasket. Unfortunately my excavator has had this solution for the past 3 years as I use it on a regular basis but no more than 5 mins at a time. One of these days I will get round to the permanent fix but it looks a difficult job due to access.
  23. Its gone for ever in the system. Anyway you have no excuse your only just down the road so you can come and have a look you know your always welcome you might even find a big butt you fancy carving. It is far easier than trying to explain but if you want I can do another PM.
  24. Batista230 Or not as you dont accept PM,s and I have just wasted 15 mins doing you a PM:thumbdown:
