  1. Been digging through the Ofgem and Decc press releases it would appear the rules changed in Sep 2013 still need to be careful how you set it up but wood drying for COMMERCIAL purposes now seems to be allowable for RHI.
  2. If it was me whatever the distance is from headboard to rear axle go the same amount again from rear axle overhanging. As others have said put butt end upto headboard. Then in attempt to make legal nail trailer board to end of trunk overhanging and connect upto your tractor. Run on sidelights so PC plod can see trailer board is actually working. I do it on a regular basis and have never been stopped yet thats not to say it is legal.
  3. If you look on the bay you find similar equipment able to claim RHI but I have not found any as yet which has been approved by ofgem which is why i am sceptical. Biomass Powered Firewood Kiln System - £25,000 additional income GUARANTEED! | eBay Or it could just be an offer to good to be true http://www.willowrivers.com/biofuel-RHI-SEIS.shtml Or I might just be getting to wary in my old age
  4. What sort of heating system is this. From your initial posting you mention kiln which to me means high temperature and quick throughput. Now your talking heated water system which to me suggests less than 90C.
  5. So how do you get RHI on this when the scheme rules specifically exclude it. I presume you have got written approval from ofgem for this.
  6. I could do with a new woodchip dryer to process 10000 tonnes per year it will cost approx 600k but I never thought it would be eligible for RHI. I would be very interested if you could finance that but to me it does seem an abuse of the RHI system.
  7. I can quite easily throughput 1000 tons a year through my solar kilns achieving a moisture content less than 20 % so where is the business model to pay for drying.
  8. Big enough to crawl through as a kid. Quite scary the dog leg section as you could not see light at the end of the tunnel. Probably 3 foot diameter with concrete outer protection layer. It was the first North Sea high pressure pipeline to go through that part of the country. Why on earth they diverted it through the centre of the village I will never understand.
  9. Have already contacted them and where not allowed to do anything until pipeline has been pegged out and there field engineer in attendance. My concern is the cover depth stated on their map is far more than what I remember as a kid when the pipe was buried. Particularly worried as the pipe is now over 40 years old so what condition is it likely to be in.
  10. Only thing with kindling straight into net bags for drying is the possibility of the plastic bags becoming brittle and discolouring. I get around the problem by processing into 600 x 400 stacking plastic crates which I then bag up on demand. One crate holds slightly more than 1 bag so I have a good idea how much stock I have in hand and the crates stack 5 to a layer on standard pallets so easy to move by forklift.
  11. Job is right through the middle of a village on the east coast near Immingham. What sort of rate do you hire out the remote grinder and what level of insurance do you have.
  12. Whats the best method for grubbing out ash coppice over the top of a high pressure gas pipe. Gas board are a bit jumpy about having an excavator on site but I dont fancy doing by hand as theres 500 mtrs to be done.
  13. Moisture content is critical anything above 12 per cent and you can forget about producing pellets.
  14. polytunnel works all year round. 3 months to season in summer and 6 months to season in winter.
  15. Just realised it says CPM not SPM. Sorry no experience of CPM
  16. Full spec of my machine Google Tonnes per hour what a joke I would be happy if it produced 50kg per hour. Ben SPM machines have a good reputation although likely to be past sell by date if on the bay. Remember you will need a power station to drive a 55kw motor and the comment of soft start suggests problems with local grid. Would also be wary on any machine pelleting rape as wear is greater than normal. Second machine is chinese junk I have one if you want to play and find out how difficult it is to make consistent pellets although mine is 3 phase not pto.
  17. You can have my pellet mill for 20k. At £250 per tonne it was worth doing pellets now down to £140 per tonne its not worth it.
  18. Boats are a loophole but use an anchor to moor and a gang-plank to come ashore.
  19. You must have more money them sense. I use my husky saw on a regular basis anything upto 24 inch is the norm larger on occasions. What mighty saw is this just a husky 141. After 7 years the pull start has finally packed up so took it in for repair or be binned in the meantime ordered a new equivalent 135 from FRJ for £175 arrived following day well chuffed. Even better news when I got old faithful back repaired for £60.
  20. My heizohack always produces a good biomass boiler chip but then thats what there made for with either a G30 or G50 screen fitted.
  21. Could always go for a merc The Ultimate Pickup - Mercedes-Benz G500 XXL by GWF
  22. Its easily sorted I sell by the IBC container which is 1.2m3 loose fill equivalent 1m3 stacked. Because it has solid sides quantities do not vary like with the bulging builders bag which varies depending whether or not it has been shaken whilst being filled.
  23. Get a pto speed multiplier then your 540 pto becomes a 1000 pto and you will then get the output at tickover speeds. Make sure the multiplier does not change direction of rotation as some do.
