  12. Cutters first then the rakers. Thats a good point about the guides when the chain is half used they dont give the right hook. It would be a good poll how many use guides and who dont. I sometimes do sometimes dont

  16. I have a couple of suffolk billhooks i will try and find and a slasher and i have some of them mattocks but they have no handles i will try and find a nice bit of ash for them ha ha:001_smile:
  17. No i dont, but as i mainly work on oak it is only a short time before you sharpen. But it was on the woodturners thread that if you buy a new set of chisels you need to sharpen them before you first use them:001_smile:

  20. I had a fallen ash on monday i was ringing it up as i got to the butt stag beetles came out so i made a nice stag pile in the ditch:001_smile:
  21. This is what we get when we keep trees past there SULE. My trees are all like that all for amenity not for timber.
  22. Picture 4 is an elwell 4988 it was given to me by an old lady whos brother was a top forester, i think the top edge is to de-bark and the L edge is for cutting off low branches to get your straight clean stems:001_smile:
