  3. Today i cut off a twig of a turkey oak and then the above tree and i have just looked at the turkey oak leaf on wikipedia. I think now it could be a hybrid with robur as most of the leaves where rounded lobes five on each side of the leaf. Interesting stuff:001_smile:

  5. The keeper got stung twice as he sprayed it. But it had to go as it is in the gardens open to the public and two feet from a path, they where very angry:001_smile:
  6. Does anyone on arbtalk know if there is a q.ceris x q. rubra? I have found a tree which looks like a ceris but the trunk looks like a rubra. Someone told me yesterday they thought it was a cross:001_smile:

  13. Hello ben yes the same here i have had the loader loler tested. I have got to go on a refresher course for spraying it is the first part the one on all the laws and stuff. I am not planting this year as no money. this is good as i can spend more time in the woods i am working out now where to go as there is so much to choose from all the best david.

  14. klaymeb i like this thread i have been collecting some nice woods to try woodturning but carving spoons is looking good. there is a penknife called the carving jack it has all the knives to carve i loved it but it is a bit pricey at about £85. but everything you need to carve anyplace anywhere.

  19. Here is a inonotus dryadeus i found on an oak tree yesterday.
  20. I found this today on an oak tree it is hard to see on picture two but it was running like a water fall and smells just like the horse chestnut canker.

  22. Yes david i will keep my eyes open and i will post a picture. If i find time i will investigate the roots to see what damage is done.
  23. I have been a member for 8 years and am allways learning. The one thing i would say is the cost of the courses the difference between member and non is only a few pounds i think as a member they should want you to learn so reduce thr price, or even better free to members:001_smile:
  24. The first two pictures i do not know it is on the ground at the butt of a huntington elm. The third picture is my first colybia fusipes of the year.
