  1. In the park i have a sycamore stump it is covered in polyporus and it is all half eaten, exposed fistulina allways gets eaten and so does low laetiporus. The deer eat there antlers for calcium so i am sure fungi is a tasty snack. When a bough falls i cut the branches off straight away and you can feed the deer and cattle from your hand its a tasty change from grass:001_smile:

  10. When i saw this thread i thought crown thin an alder thats odd. But this is more of a specimen tree. Nice job i think it looks good. The tree will like it i work on a lot of alder and they love regrowth:001_smile:

  17. I was in the abbey gardens BSE today and came across this.I wondered if anyone on the forum did it and what was wrong with the tree?

  21. Dan i love acer campestra as well. RE: WORK. That would be great i will PM you nearer the time. I have also got some giant oak pollards which are going to split down the bole so i am going to ask if i can also pollard some of these big meadow pollards. I want to do these oaks in stages so that i leave some boughs to draw the sap then after 5-6 years of growth i can take them out.
  22. Same here last year you could not find an accorn. but this year looks like a good mast year. Which is good as i have a lot of people wanting accorns to grow on.
  23. Yes i know i am saying the first two dont look like a shield bug. You should of sent it to forest research like i did when i found a longhorn beetle from china it was huge.
  24. Picture 3 looks like a shield bug. 1 and 2 look like some kind of moth maybe.
  25. Do you mean SWL 5 ton if so that is perfect? It is just to assist in felling trees. How much could you let me have? Yes i can collect i am not far away.Thanks david.
