  1. Now now calm down, i was just seeing if anyone had any rope to give away. I thought i would rather take rope up a ladder
  2. Hello all you guys in suffolk area. When i fell some of my trees i need to give a little help with the tractor. I was wondering what you do with your ropes if they fail testing do you throw them away or not? I usually use steel cable but it would be easy to take up rope:001_smile:

For all those who went to barchams dr D L said far to many trees are cut down far to quickly. trees and fungi have lived together in harmony for millions of years as long as we manage them. which is better for all tree workers because as long as the tree is there we have work:001_smile:

  7. When the ash leaves have there backs up rain is on its way. The estate workers have surveyed this one and it is 90% right:001_smile:
  8. Yes it is on quercus robur and yes i see it everyday so i can get more pics of it. So you are not sure what it is then? haha i am glad i am not the only one stumped.
  9. Any ideas anyone just started growing. I have not seen one that looks like this before i did think it was sparassis brevipes but i am not sure now as it seems to be changing.
  10. David that is my favourite place i have stood by most of them trees i eat my lunch under the proped oak. The leaning oak was interesting as i have got to do the same on a yew tree which is leaning over a driveway and i need to see if it moves any more, the problem with it was ivy the ivy in the top was like a tree of its own. lovely pictures.
  11. I would like to pollard this elm this winter or i will loose it to dutch elm disease. I have lots of old pollard oaks that need re-pollarding but there is and never will be money for this sort of work.
  12. Here are two more from a different meadow. picture 1 a pollarded elm sorry bad pic. picture 2. A oak tree the girth at breast hieght is 4.6 about 15 feet.

  14. I found this meadow that i knew was there but i did not think it belonged to the estate but it does. Take a look at these gems field maple. There was also large pollarded oaks.

  16. Yes i will be going but i have got to go and see adam play with the wolsey orchestra on saturday evening. It is a good weekend plus there will be arbtalkers there.

  17. A farmer sprayed a field with roundup and it was windy it killed all the mature hawthorn trees and killed most of the blackthorn. A newly planted hedge lost all its leaves and did come back the next year but with tiny leaves.

  19. My perfect day would be sitting on the rocks in a small bay in cornwall with my wife and three dogs. my dogs can run in and out of the sea and chase each other and we can drink the peace and quiet.
  20. My wifes uncle commited suicide and a school friend of my did as well his wife left him and he could not take it. They both where alone stuck in a box no one to talk to. But aleast you guys are talking which will help i am sure. Good post john i wish last wednesday had been a bit longer and i could of got to know you a bit better all the best mate:001_smile:

  23. Has anyone got any links or info on the virus killing the box. I am loosing all our box trees. I learnt a bit about this from will (phenom) but i cannot seem to find anything else.
