  4. Well the answer to the bandstand oak is no and no. Skyhuck i am glad you are not in charge here i would not have any trees left, 600 year old trees past there best! If it is all right with you david i will put on a few pics to this thread to see how many people would fell. But not till monday i am in london tomoz.
  5. Todays job was to make this memorial seat. We have had two workers both farmworkers die of cancer and this seat is going on a footpath looking down to both there houses with a plague on it. I don't think you will be calling me david treecarver yet LOL:biggrin:

  7. Yes i would have said it was coming from the old tree what is left of it. I have a couple of oaks here where the old woodmen planted new trees in the hollow butt of anouther
  8. I have an ash just like that to fell split hungup and covered in ivy. Plenty of room to pull mine with tractor and chains. Good job there well thought through.

  14. Yes i have andy i get large oak trees off them to plant in the avenue. They also take acorns from me to grow for there heritage range. John rose is the man in charge. I am also going to get a quote off them for all my planting this year as all there stock is of local provenance.

  17. Not at the moment i have got to change the flails and the roller broke so am having anew one made, get this bomford wanted £600 for a new roller can have one made for well under 200.

  19. I did see an ash today with small leaves out, but oak is still ahead. Has anyone heard the saying when ash leaves have there backs to the wind rain is on its way?

  25. Yes but not in these trees which are in a shelter belt. There are 14 old HC trees 2 with bleeding canker and one windblown with ganoderma.
