  2. Yes bundle 2 i have had arial roots on oak trees and also arial roots come out on the inside of hollow oaks and go down to the ground to keep the tree alive. Nice pics david bit to close to ted i think:001_smile:

This morning i went to cut up a large ash tree which fell down last year, i started cutting the top off and thought what is that smell i walked away from the tree and looked down to my hiax boots and one was covered all the way up in poo it stunk some was also on trousers OH DEAR! i thought it was dog poo but it did not smell like dog poo so i walked back to the tree had a look around and i found the rest of the pile with all the toilet paper as well:reddy:

  9. HAHA i have got a 450 year old oak outside my front door with a large hole from the loss of a limb and ducks nest every year it is so funny when the ducklings jump out the tree for the first time:001_smile:I can also sit in my chair any time of day and watch tree creepers on oaks

  11. Todays job guarding early purple orchids. the rabits are digging them up and eat the bulbs and when they flower th deer eat them and we have a lot of deer so i have to protect or loose them.

  14. I sell firewood in the quad traler and the tractor trailer it has kept me busy at week-ends i am now trying to get enough for next year. i thought you would have taken your cs 30 31 last year? i bet you are still using one at home LOL

  18. Tomoz i am going to wire any new early purple orchids i went to look today and 25 fallow deer ran out oh dear. Then i have got to go and brash a compartment in a large wood, then same as you spraying and grass cutting.

  19. All of my books say only prune beech in the summer same as cherry. As for a good time to prune? i have pruned oak trees in mid-winter and i have pruned when they are flushing, the winter cuts take years to seal the cuts i made when the tree was flushing sealed the same year i put this down to the energy flowing at that time of year, mind you i did put stockholme tar on the cuts as the park is full of fungi.
  20. You are a good boy andy giving them back. as i said they have been on the estate i like the way they tow a chipper around with them but leave all the brash laying:confused1:
  21. Hi nick i have been ill and also flat out at work i have just finished cutting in a ride in a wood through blackthorn my arms are pricked everywhere ouch. how are you at the moment are you still busy.

  22. I have got cricket bat willows, i get squirels at the top fallow deer pull the tubes off and rub them and badgers sharpen there claws on them. Also there are black spots on the trunk and when you cut twigs off the wood is brown and not white could this be water mark disease?

  24. Same here they came on the estate clearing lines i went to have a look and they left a nice shiny husky helmet with a 2009 date thanks guys.
  25. Hi joe yes i did know it was you, how is it at eastwoods? helmingham is allright i am selling a little firewood for some extra pound notes. do you and your dad still sell firewood? You will learn a lot on here it will help with your course work.
