  1. Thanks for the info on the 026 i have been looking at it can't grasp most of it yet. the parts list will be very handy just quote part number brill many thanks.

Yes i long for a dry spell, we are flooded here the water is going over the top of all the ditches and going overland as all the pipes and drains are blocked with the hedgecutter clippings. today i had to repair the park fence before we loose the sheep again i picked up two dead sheep today and a lamb, there are at least 20 lambs but it is to wet and cold for them.

  3. No i do not climb, i do most of the tree felling. all the roadside trees and the climbing work goes to a contractor. i risk assess the trees and if i pick up on any defects i tell the agent who then gets some quotes and a contractor. a long chain of command as i could get lots of people off of arbtalk to do the work and they would come a lot quicker.sometimes they say yes to work sometimes no last year i had a climber in to deadwood a 600 year old oak which has a nice low crown.

  5. I am just about had enough of this weather nick rained all day today i worked in it this morning. My list of jobs for this winter is looking like not getting done, all i need is bright frosty days, what say you?

  12. Not so good this week with snow and rain. Then on friday i had to go and cut out an overgrown footpath what a job a nightmare. The council used to trim footpaths but now they say it is the landowners job to keep footpaths clear, i have got 33 miles of footpaths and bridleways. How do you get on with footpaths on your estate? you sound happy in your work?

  13. Ditto dean i have three loads of brash tipped in gateways this week (i hope the ofender is on here be warned you are being watched) and someone dumped there old computer and all the boxes of the new one in a ditch down a quite lane:thumbdown:

  15. Hi so is joe westrup a member of arbtalk, if not why not he will learn a lot on here. you said you was doing line clearance was you in helmingham last week?How is work are you keeping busy?

  16. I felled 4 leaning willows before christmas 3 went really well 1 did not it was rotten in the middle it gave way to soon and left a small barber chair in the good wood. just take care saw willow is really soft and soon gives way.
  17. Yes i am fine carrying on as usual. not much to report oh yes i got a new tractor 4 wheel drive that will be cool.

  20. Cool i don't know if i like the idea of being allways fixed to the tractor, much better to be able to drop it off when not needed IMO

  21. Nice pics, but here i still have to remove fallen trees from the rivers as they just dam up and then flood the woods and they flood the water rats tunnels.
  22. Thanks dean. you know with cars you get the haynes manual tells you how to take everything apart and put it back together again. can you get such a manual for chainsaws? and if not why not:mad1:

  24. Thanks for that shrek that will be what it is i was felling spruce in the rain on thursday. ditto i allways take two 026s out as well.
  25. It's easy if you like engines i am no good with mechanics. I am going to try in 2009 to try and learn a bit to save keep sending them away for repair so all your advice is welcome.
