  2. Sorry to join in on this thread you two seem to have something going on:001_smile:
  3. Tony is spot on with his comments. I think you will find that any landowner or land agent can check his own tree stock and he can get any of his employees to check trees, when they spot a fault or see fruiting bodies then they call in arb inspector to look at things like tree health vigour of leaves twig growth look for wounds are they sealing over and maybe a picus then in comes the tree sugeon to do the work. Ido not think there are many estates in this country that does not use this system or similar and this is about all they could afford IMO.
  4. Ibet they have got some good wines in there 2 cellars i wonder if they would give me a good bottle as a good employee:001_smile:

  8. Today i went to check 3 beech trees on one of them are some bad new wood wounds, as you look up water is getting in old pruning wounds. this tree is next to a driveway and road. what i wanted to know was has any one got first hand experience of the success of pollarding a mature maiden beech tree, helen read does not give it a very high success rate. The reason i would like to pollard is that there are only 11 mature beech on the estate they don't like the clay soil but it would be nice to keep them if possible.
  9. So how many cubic metres is that mr smarty pants:ohmy:
  10. I would say lucidium davids last picture is what i call resinacium.
  11. Today someone gave me an old stihl chainsaw i cannot tell you the model till i clean it up but it is orange with stihl on it. But it has no chainbrake on it. I know you could not use it in a work situation but what are the rules to using it at home. That is if i can get it to work. Plus it has three filler caps one on the left which says gas one on the right which says oil but there is one on the back what is that for?
