  1. New to me not brand new. i am getting a massy ferguson with a loader on it i am keeping my little renault and the 135 is going. the new tractor is a W reg i did get a price for a brand new one but no funds credit crunch and all that still i am happy with what im getting.
  2. On the estate i work for all trees belong to the landowner and tenants have to ask if they want to work on a tree,
  3. People in prison should be picking your litter p instead of watching porn working out in the gym with 3 cooked meals everyday, they should also pick the litter on all the motorways.

  11. I am getting a new tractor and it comes with a massey ferguson 815 loader on it but has no buckets. I need a bucket and a grab for brash and logs, does anyone know of any or anyone who could make one for me.

  16. We have got a nursery near here selling trees and shrubs of local provenance i supply him with acorns from my veteran trees he sells them as his heritage range.

  17. Do you find woods work hard or is it just my age i came home today cold and my bones all ached but i had a little friend with me all day today a little goldcrest.

  19. In one of my woods are some overaged hazel the retired gamekeeper planted them 60 years ago icut one but it did not shoot and just rotted away what a waste. Is it my age or is being a woodman very hard work and makes all your bones ache.

Yes i agree the woods i know around suffolk which are unmanaged are empty of life, but the woods i look after are full of all types of wildlife,wild flowers,i remember reading in a book that hazel uncut lives to about 60 years but if it is cut the stools will live up to a thousand. Two years ago we felled a 400 year old oak when i went past it today it has good regrowth which i would not of exspected.

  22. The thing is take ash my boss will not burn ash until it has been seasoned 3 years my neighbour fells an ash and it is on the fire that night. My father in law had no trouble with his flue until one year he cut sycamore trees and after one winter his flue was blocked with tar. for myself i season for 3 years for sale i season 1 year no good being a woodman and burning damp wood.
  23. We are HLS so i am busy cleaning ponds putting livstock back in meadows hedges with 6 metre margins things like that. the woodmans group i will try and put more on after christmas. Have you got dormice where you are?

  24. I bet the children will play in that causing compaction then you can get the air spade in. nice try. I am hoping to do the same on some of my veteran oaks next year.
  25. We don't paint cuts anymore in britain except here i still paint cuts on special trees as there is every fungi you can think of, i use stockholme tar the groom gets it she uses it on the horses hooves.
