  1. a company called bpms, winchester i think.
  2. Its not how big it is it's what you do with it that counts! don't tell me you just paid 12k!!! I've just done a deal on a new one for 12995 and traded in my old one for 9500 2013 315hrs. Yes at times the 420 is not big enough but still better than no loader at all.
  3. in defence of avant loaders... I would take multione rated lift capacity with a pinch of salt. avant 420 20hp lifts 550kg and weighs 1030kg multi one s520 20hp lifts 1020kg and weighs 940kg if the two machines are so similar how can it lift nearly twice as much? i certainly know it when I've got 550kg on my avant 420 i can't believe the multione would move at all if you had that much weight on it, unless they stick a huge counter weight on it. The visibility of the implement is not as good as the avant. Does anyone know of any one who has bent the off set boom on the avant?
  4. yea the machine was £300 per day plus 180 haulage plus vat. The jobs we have used the loader on it has saved us loads of time and back ache, mainly using it to drag out wood and feed brash to bonfires. i think i recall someone reckoning on charging it out as an extra man but i recon its worth more than that.
  5. Sorry for this old chestnut again. We charge £480/day for 2 men and chipper just wondering what people are charging for 2 men and a mini loader (Avant) i have been charging the same but wondering if i should be charging a little more. Hired in a 5tonne digger and operator to dig out masses of laurel roots, they charged £580 for the day, i thought that was steep and got me thinking.
  6. I've got one exactly the same but mines only done about 600hrs. never had any problems at all with it except a wire got hot in the control box once, but a simple fix. replaced feed roller bearings last year. The feed rollers are certainly not as powerful as some of the newer chippers and stubs do tend to get caught in the feed roller up and down guide bit. but just prep it properly and its fine.
  7. As the title suggests, just looking to pick up a new rope for a zigzag, been using tachyon is the blue tongue better?
  8. forgot about the light! can't remember what issue i had once, but a loosen, jiggle and re tighten sorted the problem! possibly dirt, moved it a fraction closer? I was told by wilkie recycling that they do fail so they gave me a spare, never needed it though.
  9. check the distance between sensor and flywheel?
  10. Missed the boat again! Whats your opinion of the predator?
  11. do you want to buy my 441? its crap, keeps stalling when you pick it up, been back to radmore and tuckers a million times, they say there is nothing wrong with it.
  12. Thanks for the replies. I was wondering what it would be like on the avant. really good to hear from someone who has tried it. I have seen on youtube the stumpy grinders on skid steers which are mounted side ways,(throw debris left and right.) i did wonder if it was mounted that way round the visibility would be better?
  13. Which do you think? i was thinking of fitting the predator to my avant loader, not sure if this would be better or worse than a dedicated machine. both are on eBay at the moment.
  14. whats the payload on the 4x4 merc compared to the 2wd version?
  15. Where about are you? Put up some pics of the work you have done
  16. I think a few people on here have used a company in birmingham and got a high sided tipper for 2.5k and they are pleased with them. My chap said he couldn't even get the parts for that!
  17. I couldn't find anybody when i asked the same question a few months ago. Exeter coachworks gave me a quote but i got the impression they didn't want the work. I've asked a local fabricator to do mine but small scale is proving very expensive! 5.5 plus vat for high sided tipper on l200 mitsubishi with roof rack and underbody boxes.
  18. I only know of farmers that are involved with the cull, they were approached by a representative, those that agreed paid a fair bit of dosh, were given/share special traps and special cartridges to dispatch any caught. They also have a special licence to cull the animals. Im sure if you were caught killing badgers without the proper licence you could be prosecuted. farmers have to bag em and tag em and take them to a collection point. some did not agree for fear of reprisals from anti cull people. Interesting to see if it reduces tb
  19. you can borrow my petrol riko a11, if thats big enough for you? blackawton
  20. I was thinking stencils and sandblasting. There is quite a bit of it around slapton ley. It certainly looks the part.
  21. I didn't think the digger was big enough. A few hours, a good operator, all done. The machine was on site as it had just finished a hydro system and leat weir repairs. Gara bridge, devon
