  1. they were talking about it on radio 4 a couple of days ago, with reference to builders though. yes a load of rubbish was the conclusion
  2. oh the only other annoying thing is that its bloody loud!
  3. not big stuff, short and fluffy oak IMG_8647.mov
  4. Very impressed with it overall except the build quality isn't great, but nothing gone wrong with it yet and ive put several hours on it. I got bored with the jo beaus etc, a third of the material flows through lovely a third you have to try to force into it and a third you have to try hold it back so you dont stall them. gl&d super just chuck it in and go get the next bit no faffing about. you just cant beat the combination of gravity with the feed roller. fluffy stuff and hedge trimmings are easier to feed to this chipper than my 7inch road tow. The only annoying thing I have found is that you have to remember to switch the hydraulic flow lever from track drive to feed roller drive which I always seam to forget and then wonder why the machine will not track or wonder why the feed roller wont work!
  5. ive got the micro cylinder. it is certainly lighter than the stein bollard, but is it just me or do the smaller diameter bollards cause a lot more twist in the rope? I also cant seam to 'let them run' as well as with a bigger diameter bollard. I also couldn't get on with the shizll. it looked super easy to adjust and slide down a stem for blocking down but in practice I found it a pain in the arse.
  6. I bought it 'nearly new' from arbtrader 9k
  7. I decided to buy the gl&d titan wee chipper. I tried the eliet and jo beau but this simply out performed both of them but certainly is not built as well as either of the other two. So far ive been very impressed. You just cant beat a feed roller! IMG_8337.mov
  8. did he say 720kg payload?
  9. once again I thought I was going to become an overnight millionaire! ohh well....
  10. As in the title really. I know wood turners like it but what does it mill like?
  11. I am finding that a lot of trees supplied lately look like this. Horrible leggy things that can easily snap off at the tie point. i have had honey locust, hawthorns and oak
  12. Found it! Found the big fuse by the starter motor, which had blown. Replaced that and tried again, smoke coming from the point in the photo where the loom bolted to the chassis, both red wires were bent back on themselves. I just watched the clever person fix it btw!
  13. I have undone the panel..... there's a lot going on under that panel!. It's raining now and it's in the middle of a field. great!
  14. loader just cut out whilst using it. No lights on dash, not turning over. battery terminals all look good. all fuses look good. is there an inline fuse for the battery/starter/ignition anywhere? I cant find anything. any ideas?
  15. In that second photo, the close up, the brown bits haven't been cut, they might possibly have been chewed at by a blunt trimmer. Id have happily trimmed that a bit tighter than you have. But I wouldn't worry it will grow out again all to quickly!
  16. Fred Barclay travel down there from tiverton way, he's online.
  17. ahh think they have the part with this company but looks like they have stopped stocking them too just had a few parts left. I will ring them on Monday. thanks
  18. Yep sorry I should have said that they list it but dont have any in stock or any parts in stock for that engine in fact. They are meant to be regularly removed and debris emptied but are tight to tighten and are only of crappy plastic which does not do well with being removed frequently.
  19. trying to find this part Subaru Robin 277-62100-08 its for a ex27 engine off my log splitter. its just the cup that collects any crap. a rubbish design. I cant seam to find it anywhere except American sites. its a tk carb
  20. Had this machine in for a couple of weeks now from Fred Barclay to try and catch up with the bigger jobs. Such a great bit of kit! I recon he could stir of cup of tea with it too!
