Looking at a splitter in birmingham which is miles away from me in Devon. its over 7k with transport. owner has made a bit of effort to provide transport quotes but didn't seam keen to send new photos or a video of it working. is there a 'safe' way to transfer funds/receive splitter without risk to both parties? should I just leave it?

  19. Just had the a price back... £65 for 2 bits of plastic.... fuming. Apparently not meant to be using grease to lubricate slides dry lube or oil.
  20. Anyone had this happen to their splitter? It looks like ive got to take the splitter to bits to get new guide in.
  21. 50 squirrels in one wood... ive only shot one squirrel in 50 years! too clever for me!
  22. so if the ash is alkaline I dont really want to add it to the composted wood chip for the rhodos?
  23. I just use 70/80 litre pots that trees come in, one for climbing kit. one for lowering rope, one for bollard.
  24. Ive basically been asked to plant up an area with white, scented rhodos, but after a little exploratory dig the ground is pure shillet, so my plan was simply to cover the area in composted wood chip (at least 5yr old) to a depth of 100mm ish then plant up probably using a bag of ericaceous compost per plant. Any body recommend a ph meter/tester?
  25. Would anybody have an idea whether it would be a good idea to plant ericaceous loving rhodos into very old, well composted wood chip?
