  1. Just spent the night googling these cameras, as usual after googling stuff i am now more confused than ever. I want/need a security camera for a remote yard that is capable of sending images to my phone via 4g network upon motion detection. does anybody have any recommendations or a good company to talk to?
  2. will the poorer quality petrol cause premature engine wear like it does on the saws? are there any 500+ hour petrol engined machines out there?
  3. i recon it weighs a good 30kg. stupidly tied it on to me to lower it down, nearly yanked me out of the tree! a little heavier than i thought!
  4. Yep that's where my money is too. let me know when your buddy is coming down and i will get you some of the wood.
  5. Brian james tipper is a lot lower. 60cm if i recall. Which is better for loading and stability but not so good for tipping logs etc as you have to take off the tail board, it does not swing downwards as it would push into the ground which leaves lights very vulnerable.
  6. i put a cheap chinese carb on my br600. It works now but does not idle or pick up as it used to, i might just need to have a fiddle
  7. Avant loaders have had a demolition robot about for a few years now.
  8. Definitely blunt! Not sure if its all in my head but i feel it makes a lot of difference when they are needle sharp. I got a little steel sharpening template with mine.
  9. "There was" it was right in the dz! It will reshoot though I'm sure of it. Recon i will have to resurrect this thread in a year or two!
  10. There was one definitely (3'' at ground level, approximately 10m from base of parent tree, there was also one other which may have been a root sucker or may have been another much smaller stem (within 10cm of parent tree) i didn't have a good root about.
  11. It is the same sample, getting a little desiccated now though! Sorry i thought the babies high chair would have given enough of a scale!
  12. I can cut you off a slab or two. Fancy a holiday in South Devon?
  13. No i don't think it is Toxicodendron vernix. There was one of those on site and as i suggested in an earlier post the farmer who cut it up ended up in A&E. He assured me it was a different tree. the leaves were more radially arranged and a black resinous, Creasote like liquid was very evident under the bark, which caused all the blisters on the farmer.
  14. A couple more photos. I am hoping it will coppice, there were a couple of root suckers popping up 2'' diameter.
  15. The lump on the Avant was about 600kg. I have taken away all the wood. Do you want some?
  16. I was well chuffed! Bought off internet, No proof of purchase, Over a year old, Returned my old bar and chain from old saw with the new complete saw. 1 week old stihl polesaw, starter pulley failed, went back to dealer and i still had to pay for it! "Starter puller isn't covered by warranty" useless!
  17. Probably 3 or 4 months. The cap just got tighter and tighter. I spoke to echo uk and they hadn't had any similar issues. I haven't tried the new saw yet. The old saw was a little ripper!
  18. My Echo 390esx had an issue with a swelling tank or cap, which resulted in me not being able to undo or do up the fuel cap, i had 3 new caps. Anyway i returned the saw at their request and they sent me a brand new replacement saw. The saw was well over a year old. Thank you Echo!
  19. There is some pretty obscure stuff on this site. There was a varnish tree here to, it blew over and the local farmer cut it up to clear the road, he ended up in A&E with severe burns so did three other people who helped. Black creosote like resin from just under the bark. He was having showers in the middle of the night to wash away all the pus from his oozeing blisters for 6 weeks. He said it wasn't the same as that tree which i was glad to hear! i recon it only 50 years old max
  20. Yep i will get some pics of the bark and cs section wood tomorrow.
  21. I was thinking some kind of Sumac? Blackish heartwood Turning a beautiful red colour. Slight milky sap 20m high, 30'' dbh with Ganoderma
  22. How do people get on with them? I bought one as i thought it would be easier moving down a stem but i find the spider plate certainly doesn't slide about as easily as it seams to in the youtube videos
