  1. I was chatting to the vermeer guy at the confor show and he had seen the usual pedestrian grinders all in use and he thought the fsi grinder was considerably better. the b22 has a 14hp engine, hydro drive. i can't quite see how that would be better than the 25hp ones but he thought so. judging by the youtube vids it certainly does look effortless compared to the blind lugging about grinding of the 25's
  2. Anybody fancy 2 poss 3 days work dismantling a big mac in torquay, devon. meant to be starting monday the 17th. pm or phone andrew 07813902311
  3. they arnt wood they are old copper oil line pipe, squished flat, and i did have to balance them out a tad by glueing a bit more on the back. its the old oil pipe again joining the spalted/rotten bit of ash to the oak bits. i totally copied a great local to me, craftsman, peter lanyon i think
  4. Anybody had any issues with their fuel cap swelling up? mines less than a year old and the other day noticed that it was getting harder and harder to do up the cap. ordered a new one and its fine. looking at the old one it looked like it had swelled up?
  5. I made this one for the wife
  6. I've got some steep slopes to clear of brambles, usually use a fs350 and fs 400 with shedder blades which are ok, just wondering if the blade works well with the backpack brush cutters. anybody use them?
  7. personally, i had the positioner on a wire core flip line and i didn't rate it much. I found it slipped a lot if the tail of the flip line was straightened behind you for any reason. i prefer a simple grab or prussic on my wire core flipline however i have now put the positioner (switched cams) on some blue tongue which is nice.
  8. If id of thought of it, id of used that idea. Probably used 2 ratchet straps though, just to be safe!
  9. i was coming to the flat bed conclusion. a longer plant trailer wouldnt solve the issue as the extra length is in the front of the trailer not behind the axles. very often carry a bucket in the grab and trailer feels really nose heavy then. anybody want to buy a trailer?!
  10. what trailers are people using to carry about their mini loaders? i have been using a brian james tipper with the pallet forks/ bucket resting on top of tail board, but thought it would load better on a standard plant trailer, it fits well but trailer nose weight is exceeded I'm sure as you can't centre weight over the trailer axles. also is a pain to strap on as ratchet straps don't fit well. Actually towed better on the tipper but that trailer is twice the weight and ramps are a bit awkward foe everyday use
  11. saw this and thought it was a bit different. they want 750 for it
  12. The same engine! perhaps i won't bother then. I haven't had much luck with them, km90 and km 130, shame because I've got lots of attachments which i can't use now and reluctant to buy another bag of bolts that won't start
  13. Just interested if anybody tried the 131 or 111 stihl kombi?
  14. Stihl is no better! My 441 stalled every cut on 12'' stuff, returned to dealer, who couldn't find anything wrong with it. returned to stihl, the only comment on there report said performance would be improved with stihl bar and chain! I was fuming! and it still stalled when they returned it so it went straight back to the dealer again, who did put a new carb and coil on it in the end then it worked. but no apology!
  15. Got my new 420 the other day, traded in my old one. certainly is not heavy enough to handle that shear! There is a lovely looking giant loader on arbtrader at the moment.
  16. my bar always seamed too dry on any bar above 30'' on my 661 imo.
  17. i got great success a few years ago with Beech seeds, virtually all my sinkers grew away and are now planted out in copses. Apparently it was a mast year when i collected my seeds so lots were viable. That is the limit of my knowledge! the Oaks will grow out the bottom of those pots in no time at all, id go bigger next time.
  18. can i book you in to do a little 5 acre field in devon?! free on site camping!
  19. Anybody know of a supplier of sweet chestnut fencing posts for agricultural fence in south devon? Thanks
  20. Not a bad before and after! They had lost their view from in the bath! view out over start bay, can see start point light house on a usual day.
