  1. never had it before and it really hurts!
  2. they told me i should be using stihl oil not oregon, so they sold me 20l of the stihl red!
  3. so why are they recommending the ultra for?
  4. So have i got this right? stihl ultra for any 4mix engine? stihl red for any 2 mix engine? I've used stihl red for years in all my gear with no problems but my 441 and km130 are constantly in and out of the dealers, they have only just said that i should be using the ultra oil after 2 years of me moaning about them running badly and need valve adjusting every 2 weeks! is the ultra ok to use in the older 2mix engines? do i have to carry 2 cans with me? 441 keeps stalling at idle, dealers keep just cleaning the carb out and randomly charging me between 20 and 70 for it. they now say that ultra might cure this problem too.
  5. Get it inspected by someone suitably qualified and insured. Rupert Baker at Ashburton is very good, he does all my inspection work. Then act on his/their recommendations. More money but well worth it.
  6. Is it really any good for milling? I've never seen any finished products made from leylandii, anybody got any photos? I've got tons at my yard, waiting for it to rot!
  7. For carving would one with a paddle switch be better/safer? rather than the usual on off switch. I always wonder where the flippin thing would end up if i dropped it!! I think makita do one with a paddle switch.
  8. Could you tell me the heat recovery system you have fitted. i want to do the same thing in our bungalow. Also did you fit an oversize burner as you are going to be sucking some of the warm air out?
  9. me too. 441 been back at dealer 5/6 times now, back to stihl twice. saw was dying mid cut on 12'' stuff every time, all stihl said was that performance would be improved with genuine bar and chain! i was fuming! had a new coil and carb in the end, better now but still stalls regularly idle. been back three times for that issue dealer just says the carb needs cleaning, funny because none of my other 20 engines which are used just as frequently need their carbs cleaned 3 times in 2 months! don't get me started on my kombi 130, needs valves adjusting every week, been back countless times to dealer. everything i bought in 2012 was rubbish 441 km130 and 550p
  10. uhh yea perhaps i will look in to it sooner rather than later! sorry to hear about your diagnosis.
  11. yes the idea was to cover the mortgage and bills a bit. i will try arborisk. do some people not bother with this insurance? i can understand not bothering, but with marriage, mortgage and kids etc kinda got to haven't you?
  12. just hit 40 and cirencester friendly have wacked my insurance unto £66/mnth for 346/wk cover. what are others paying and who are you with? i what to ring around
  13. thats a 7 toner thing i think. i was thinking of the 3.5 ton capacity trucks really
  14. Why do they not make a 4x4 isuzu/cabstar etc?! That would suit me perfectly!
  15. I am sure i have asked before but how do you post a link?
  16. garage in coventry is selling a toyota tipper with tool box, 23k miles, All looks tidy and new. Only problem i see is blowing chip over the bar on the box at the back? just search for toyota tipper
  17. yep i was quoted 18k but you can probably knock them down a bit. A new L200 single cab, series4 is 14k!! i guess they have dropped the price awaiting the release of the series 5, seams the have only released the fancy double cabs in series 5 so far. At that price its very tempting!
  18. yea but that first scratch hurts soo bad!
  19. Nearly new, i.e. ex demonstrator
  20. I know this has been nearly done to death but just wondering what the single cab truck is at the moment as i am in the market for a new one. My cousin is not happy with his new isuzu, gutless, has to shift into low box to reverse empty trailer up a slight incline, never had to with his l200. L200s are cheap at the moment Toyota only has a payload of 800ish kg unless I've read specs wrong. Rangers look ok. L200 again or try a Ranger?
  21. pictures of stihls new product testing team!
  22. Thanks for the reply guys. sound like more research required!
  23. I'm sure someone a while back was talking about sucking heat out of their hot room (room with wood burner in!) and blowing it through insulated pipes in the loft to the bedrooms. Anybody got any ideas on that subject? are there companies that make specific kits for that type of application? reason i ask is that we have a bungalow, lounge gets boiling, bedrooms gets freezing so we still have to have central heating on to warm the bedrooms. seams crazy when i have a shed load of wood! getting a bigger wood burner with back boiler and re plumbing the house I'm sure would be prohibitively expensive.
  24. what fuel can are you echo users using? stihl can auto spouts don't fit do they?
