  1. Strange subject to carve, what's the story behind it?
  2. Good job and some nice safe cutting, get yourself a high clip for that saw nd it'd be so much better and smoother. How come no spikes, got forgotten or still on the need list.
  3. Check you with your twin srt set up, nice job.
  4. Definitely, little guy trying to escape
  5. Abused the cables on all my winches and not snapped any of them yet but am quite careful what they run over.
  6. Shame, know anyone with a micro chipper and some trugs for chip
  7. If it's a straight run through why not build a plywood channel, sheet on floor then 1 at either side and just drag stuff through, it's how we got a 65ft mature conifer through a terrace house in the past, no damage at all. Ment to say that wording of the clause sounds fair.
  8. Big old tree that John, interesting place to get to work I guess.
  9. How nice would something like this be, dread to think how much it'd cost
  10. Rb or defender, who knows might even look at a 75 as only 4k more than the forst.
  11. Same I'd go old school nd get the 372, really love mine with a 20" or up a tree it'll still drag the 28" ok. Used a 576 and it was smoother but just seems to be lacking something and balance is a bit off for snedding for my taste.
  12. I know, I'll even let you say I told you so if it happens. Only got 2 k to pay on forst so really don't know what to do, it's not even a year old and it chips so well and I really do like it but would really like the long term security of owning a bandit, as some say it's the last chipper you'll ever need to buy unless you need to go bigger.
  13. Being self tensioning is definitely a benefit of the palax over the jappa on belts. But I did like the slide rather than rock of the cradle of the jappa.
  14. Your right I do want to but think I'll give forst another year then go for the final solution.
  15. Good machine for that money. I like it on small stuff that won't need splitting as can just cross cut and lob onto the conveyer or if you have billets that don't need splitting again just take knife out and cut away
  16. Got the palax combi Mii. Think Caledonian forestry have a second hand 1 for sale at the moment but don't know what price is.
  17. That was my thinking with the palax, just speeds things up a bit, we only log what we bring back N once it's gon it's gon, no interest in starting to pay for timber.
  18. Scary ain't it, had the same type but with client just walking over and nearly into the head, frequency put the boards around my working area now just as a safety barrier to keep people out as much as keep grindings in.
  19. My old 700 was a bit on the soft side and always had belt problems, new 1ns might be better especially if they are auto change on splitter pressure.
  20. Pugs have such big caricature for there size but in my brain all are called frank....
  21. 👆same as mine, spoke to Simon at forst and it's normal.
  22. This would be a good start, quite full on if you haven't done anything before but it on my list for next year. http://www.trees.org.uk/Training-And-Events/Course-Detail?id=624F6FB7-6FB0-405D-AE11-2C7308249893
  23. Always a worry being worth more deceased than live nd kicking 😲
  24. Too wide and not a great deal of hight, looked at 1 before I got the landy nd decided if it was going to be a mog it needed to have a much bigger boom to make up for its own size. Can't even tow a trailer out with that 1.
  25. Mrs Flatters looks just a little toooo happy looking at all those sharp pointy things, look out Ian she could be coming for you!
