  1. Watched a heap of videos on them and makes me want to have another go at srt as didn't quite click with the wrench setup.
  2. You know what they say.. Give a lazy man a difficult job nd he'll find a easier way of doing it 😜 Forst chomped it really well, had it set to 6 to wip it in and bust any forks, was a delicate operation feeding some of the longer bits with the crane and such a big grab, sort of place them into hopper back out and just nudge them in, far less painful than by hand as seemed to be a particular spiky verity. I'm used to a gob like this for it! Got a happily content 8 year old daughter tonight sitting getting thorns out my arms and shoulders with a pair of needle tweases, less painful than letting the wife do it!
  3. Got it finished just within time apart from 1 bush where we did actually find a nest, a very vigilant cutter was the best hope they had as was actually quite open once inside so easy to spot any nests.
  4. Was so proud of the finished job I couldn't even bring myself to take a picture 😭 Looked piggin awful but it's what was wanted to give the new vans a view of all the other vans, glad the chip was blown back under as it hid a lot of sins on the ground.
  5. Thorn hell for a few days, topping this hedge on a steep bank, valtra was a big help being able to reach 80% and lay them out for chipping, bottom bit tractor couldn't reach resulted in lots of cussing and bleeding trying to avoid hitting the vans with 20ft thorn tops. New com defenders made life more comfortable than a helmet when in tractor and avoided miscommunication with poor ben who was cutting
  6. Wife was in looking out the window and delivery driver pulls up writes something got out van walked up to house with the sorry you weren't in note and stuffed it into letter box, wife opens door as he was getting into van nd he just waved and drove off. I called and complained which was a waste of time but got it delivered the next day ok.
  7. Almost makes me look forward to a cold winter again
  8. Just spotted the other thred nd see what it's about. Fantastic work.
  9. Conveyer ain't attached when they come in to the country, palax definitely won't go into a container easily.. Think best set up is decent splitter and circular saw and a willing volunteer to operate them.
  10. You going for a bigger grinder to cope with the (hopefully) extra workload because swinging that old rako all day every day will kill your back nd hips.
  11. Strange subject to carve, what's the story behind it?
  12. Good job and some nice safe cutting, get yourself a high clip for that saw nd it'd be so much better and smoother. How come no spikes, got forgotten or still on the need list.
  13. Check you with your twin srt set up, nice job.
  14. Definitely, little guy trying to escape
  15. Abused the cables on all my winches and not snapped any of them yet but am quite careful what they run over.
  16. Shame, know anyone with a micro chipper and some trugs for chip
  17. If it's a straight run through why not build a plywood channel, sheet on floor then 1 at either side and just drag stuff through, it's how we got a 65ft mature conifer through a terrace house in the past, no damage at all. Ment to say that wording of the clause sounds fair.
  18. Big old tree that John, interesting place to get to work I guess.
  19. How nice would something like this be, dread to think how much it'd cost
  20. Rb or defender, who knows might even look at a 75 as only 4k more than the forst.
  21. Same I'd go old school nd get the 372, really love mine with a 20" or up a tree it'll still drag the 28" ok. Used a 576 and it was smoother but just seems to be lacking something and balance is a bit off for snedding for my taste.
  22. I know, I'll even let you say I told you so if it happens. Only got 2 k to pay on forst so really don't know what to do, it's not even a year old and it chips so well and I really do like it but would really like the long term security of owning a bandit, as some say it's the last chipper you'll ever need to buy unless you need to go bigger.
  23. Being self tensioning is definitely a benefit of the palax over the jappa on belts. But I did like the slide rather than rock of the cradle of the jappa.
  24. Your right I do want to but think I'll give forst another year then go for the final solution.
