  1. That first picture , there are lots of slips and darts. Never lay any less than 1/3 of a block, the second one, those edges should be laid on a concrete haunch first, then screed the internal blocks off. The way you have done it is a classic traveller method.
  2. I could get started on his block paving laying, but I think he has been lambasted enough for one day!
  3. Also, why are you driving overloaded and dangerously, when all you are doing is saving your customer some money? Just pass on the haulage costs. What's the odds? Unless you have passed on the costs and are collecting them to make more money out of it, in which case, that's worse. My philosophy is not to worry about the costs of things, the customer is paying not me
  4. I have to agree somewhat. A guy near me did something similar, his trailer hitch snapped, and the trailer careered off on it's own narrowly missing a bus stop. A local builders merchants would have done free delivery on those, they are bog standard pavers
  5. 1.5 tonnes per pack. I am guessing all overloaded looking at the trailer tires!
  6. Wasnt there an issue with Ford selling these saying they could tow 3.5tonnes, but the vin plate said something different?
  7. Some peoples temerity never ceases to amaze me. Woman near me on local Facebook page asking for tree surgeons to drop her free firewood, and only hardwood! Jog on luv
  8. Then a simple explanation asking some relevant questions would of helped us all, instead of the cloak and daggers approach
  9. Couldn't agree more. Timberwolf have a habit of trying to be a sneaky and not sharing knowledge. He asked for an answer on a public forum, so lets put the answer on here for everyone. If it was a Greenwich question, we would have got the answer from a technician without fuss
  10. Presumably the crane operator would know the capacities etc and would be responsible if it tipped over?
  11. If it's a tandem pump, and is split, I.e. you can separate it into two halfs, it can be repaired. Look for Rapidpumps on Google.
  12. Good news. Toe Turner at alcester can straighten and balance, £195. Sent if off to them today
  13. Forest, you haven't mentioned pension contributions?
  14. As my work got bigger, I needed to lift more weight, and higher. I wanted to get a 750. It's faster, has self levelling and the quick couplings for hydraulics. I was running out of room in my barn storage wise, and the 750 had extra reach and height so I was able to lift attachments and machines to the top of my racking, freeing up space. The 520 was great, metal panels etc. I sold it for just 500 less than I paid for it, but without the attachments that came with it, and as luck would have it, the guy who brought it knew the guy I brought it from!
  15. Hoping so yes. Emailed a company with a photo who boast being able to do it up to 3.2m, so watch this space
  16. That's another option, worth looking into. Three choices, repaired, replaced with genuine or replaced with chinesium!
  17. Kilworth are coming back to me Tuesday to confirm a price and availability. It has to come from Italy, and they are on a shutdown till then. I have emailed the company someone above recommended to see if they can straighten it., then see which way to go
  18. Update Managed to get round to looking at it closer, removed the side cover, took off the belts and spun the rotor. Turns out its bent!. That would account for the vibration. It doesn't need balancing, it needs replacing. £700 I am told
  19. That looks exactly like my old 520+ I sold a couple of years ago. You won't go wrong if it's an exact copy
  20. My accountant kept advising me to go limited. It was double the accountancy fees, change of bank accounts, plus if you wanted to then get finance, you had no trading history effectively. I decided against it after speaking to several people who basically got inspected by HMRC and had paid the wrong dividends ending up with massive Bill's of back tax. The loophole of doing it to get round tax has been closed, my accountant no longer pushes me to do it. The only benefit I can see is you cannot be sued, if you are you just close the company and start again
  21. Cheers Bob. I will have a closer inspect tomorrow. Its 3.5k new, so worth getting it up and running
  22. Ah. Good question. Guessing about 1.1m. Will check. That makes sense if you knocked a weight off, but you would think that you can just weld another on?
  23. Just acquired a flail for the tractor. The seller has advised it vibrates a lot, and has suggested it may need the rotor balancing. Any idea where I might be able to get this done, if indeed it is the problem? It may just be a bearing. I need to put it on the tractor and test it
  24. What attachment do you use? A ripper or small bucket?
