  1. I went through the last few years planning on building one too. But then the Jamie Oliver one popped up but it's £1500 so hard to justify the need for that many pizzas. Then I found one of these for £200. Burned wood pellets in a little cage/hopper art he rear and it works a treat. There is a newer later version of it now, the uuni 3. I think mines a 2
  2. Spanners and stuff with lifetime guarantee. It's fine for your average kicking about stuff and they do just replace it if its faulty. I'd say you should take it all to Halfords and tell them this is what happened with their key. They'll probably sort it.
  3. Doesn't it bug you when getting hit in the face with chip directly from the saw. Mainly avoidable but sometimes not. It bloody hurts sometimes.
  4. Is it true that in those days, the tree had to be felled and burnt on site and... to fell all elms within 500yrds or something. How did that go down with the neighbours beautiful 150 yr old specimen.😕 And who's gonna pay? Just sort of what I remember from college 20 odd yrs ago...
  5. Speed drying... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172583883573
  6. Pm sent. Thanks
  7. Alpine, krab and pulley works well for me.
  8. Very satisfying when the local dealership wants 100quid to turn the warning light off after a 5 minute fix. And you tube shows you that by turning your lights on/off10 times and then going through the settings, it's done in 2 minutes. Cheeky buggers 😜
  9. Is this only by the pallet. A box would be a good start if you do sales that small. Cheers Edit: I mean a big box, not the singles.
  10. I think if you look in the App Store you might be able to get it again. 'Get' instead of 'buy' I didn't know you could delete that one to be honest. I thought it was one of the permanent ones.
  11. I'm hoping I might be able to get old stuff as a replacement. I do like the old stuff. Not so good in the wet. But I like blue more than orange so hoping to get the same again.
  12. Would you buy it again to use with akimbo?
  13. Just wondering if anyone has tried the new CE marked Cougar blue with the Akimbo yet and how has it been? Following my problem with my original Cougar blue, I have been in touch with Nod and he has been in touch with Donagheys. They have said it will be replaced no problem at all, so that's good. 👍🏻 But I'm assuming it will get replaced by the new stuff which might not be any good with the Akimbo. Just wondering whether to keep it and cut it into 2 shorter pieces. Is it any wider than the old stuff. Is it softer, bouncier or whatever. Any feedback would be great. Cheers
  14. Can I ask a stupid question here. Why do rats want to live where the chickens do. Do they eat the chicken feed? I've never seen them at the feeder. If they aren't eating the food and costing me money, then that is one problem not to be bothered by. But why are they there? I wondered if they eat a lot of the bugs and stuff that will come with the fertile soil. Our big problem is the tunnels that are all over the place which give way when you walk over them to collect eggs, fill the food and water up etc. It is possible that you could twist an ankle or something. That's expensive, and so wiping out a few rats doesn't bother me. But other than that, what is the problem with them being there. It's a genuine question... I spend a lot of time thinking about them, watching out for them and trying to trap or kill them. But really, is there any point?
  15. That looks a lot better. If that had been me on my wet rope, it would have been a two handed affair trying to pull on it to get it going. I'm assuming on dry rope it's just as good/the same/or even better?
  16. 👍🏻 I'm sure he will. 😊
  17. I haven't mentioned anything to the retailer yet. I haven't had much experience of rope milking to be honest and wasn't sure if this was a normal thing that I hadn't dealt with correctly. But it does seem quite clear that the rope isn't supposed to be like that. I'll see what they say. Maybe there has been other previous issues with this batch.
  18. Forgot the pics
  19. I've tried milking it passed the bunched area and it looks like the outer is attached to the inner somehow. Im not sure if it's clear in the picture but the black strands are tight in that area whereas the blues are loose. I managed to milk off approx 2' from the bunched up bit outwards. But when trying from that 'new' end, it just gathered up at the same (marked) area and won't pass. So it looks like a manufacturing fault.
  20. That's what I was thinking about climbing it the other way round. Will the descent wring it out and milk it. I'll try with a Prussik and see if I can budge it either way I suppose. Cheers
  21. No eye splice. It's bunched not far from the middle. And doesn't seem to want to milk past the bunched area.
  22. Ok thanks. So, if it was like you describe. Does that mean cutting it to have two pieces is a problem. If I lose the 1-2 metres of 'annoying' bit, do I carry on with it as normal?
  23. I climbed on the blue a couple of times with the BDB but it wouldn't grip so I went straight back to the old Blue Tongue or Cougar Orange which was fine.
  24. I'm not sure if it's the CE one. I got it from Nod about a year ago, saving it for the akimbo. I don't know how I can milk it though. The bit where it bunched up had about 20 odd metres left (from a 55m rope) but I couldn't get it to move further 'down' the rope. If I ascended a bit, I could move it up and the whole outer sheath was moving freely over the inner for a few feet. But on descent it just bunched up in the same spot. It won't budge from that area. Does that mean that I have to try to milk it all the other way over the other 30 or so metres. I must have climbed the second climb with the rope the same way round as the first climb. And it bunched up in the same area. Will it milk it for me if I go the other way next time? I hope that makes sense. Aaaaaarghh!!
  25. I've never really had any ropes that have milked a lot. So I'm not really sure what to expect with the new sterling htp that I've got. It hasn't done anything yet but I've only had a couple of 2hr climbs on it. Anyway, I went back to the cougar blue today and had two climbs. Both times, the rope all bunched up and it wouldn't go through the Akimbo. 1st time I was 2' off the ground and I went back up and massaged it about and it was ok to come down. 2nd decent was about 12' off the ground and I think in the same spot. I couldn't massage it out and had to remove the akimbo and reposition underneath the bulge area to get down. Is this an issue with the rope? Is that a manufacturing fault thing or the akimbo doing it? Hopefully the pictures will show it. I forgot to add. This has only been climbed on about 5 or 6 times at the most.
