  1. Poison every time , use two different types , bate the place right up really fill the bowls on the run they will gorge this will infect nursing mothers also .That should do the trick for a while and next time try a different bait the can supposedly become immune.Might take a week or so but you will start to see the odd dead un about.
  2. A lesson in how cutthroat it is out there at the moment , it would seem to me that almost anyone will stab you in the back ,people seem to be always asking too many details about who you are working for or where did you find certain work ect .Keep them like mushrooms feed them full of s##t and keep them in the dark
  3. Here,s mine taking down a pine in east Devon
  4. Pump does not seem to purge I have had it running for several minutes that is why I was wondering about bleedng or something , feeling a Jon Cleese moment coming soon with this thing.
  5. Type of thing I would do but I did refill when I put it back together
  6. Was on a steel pipe (sorry not hose) got an engineer mate of mine to weld it
  7. I have got my hands on a little 6hp log spitter which had a split hose coming of one of the rams. I have repaired the split and put it all back together and get no hydraulic pressure , my question is do I need to bleed the system or am I missing something completely
  8. I expect it is the same chap with all of those chippers on the isle of Sky or whatever treeless island they are always on.
  9. :thumbup:Perhaps being French it has gone on strike due to adverse working conditions
  10. GRCS all the way and am in the same position as Testcricket , will bring it along when doing freelance work , once you have used one you really dont want to dismantle any other way.I was thinking of hireing it out to more responseable companies or do I just retain the comercial advantage locally by having one.
  11. The building on the right looks like a mobile home John you could have just jacked it up a bit

  14. People keep on moaning about the market being at saturation point which it probobly was years ago there is so many people havng a go and lets face it the majority of tree work is a piece of cake. There is loads of companies gonig around my area mummy has brought them a chipper and there biggest saw is a 18 inch and they still keep on gonig. Alot of customers would not know a good tree job from a bad one and believe what the nice man that came and cut the trees told them and I think this also applies to some comercial clients also. Ge yourself a flashy website and your are off because of course everything on the internet is true. It would seem to me its all about the bs I was asked by an arb manager this year how you determine the the diference between a 20% and 25% reduction and he was serious he did not know. As for the utility contracts the quality has dropped dramaticly since the new contracts around here a couple of years ago,the clearing up even roadside is shoddy to say the least and as for the sites you cant see some of them look like someone has crashed a tractor through the woods at 60 mph and yet when I pointed a site out to a surveyor who happened to come past there response was the lads need to get in and out as quickly as possible. But what the heck I am on here on a Sunday lunchtime and after 20 years still love it and will keep going .
  15. What a load of rubbish , try and tell the tree companies round here that when they are quieter this time of year and flat out in the winter.
  16. Thats cool enough , maybe you should just leave it where you leave the rest of your scrap:001_rolleyes:

  18. Good posys above , Non liveried clothing , gotta be a right wind up to se someone walking around in a competitors tshirt or brand of beer on the front of it. Plain unsignwritten motor too. Dont talk about what rate you are on thats strictly between you and the gaffer . Smaller firms agree a rate and what kit you bring along. Have ended up bringing along all the gear to do a big takedown before and wondered whats going on , that cost extra these days.
  19. Hi Dave , Loads of break ins round the Blackdowns recently and the police are really keen to catch these fuckers , heard anything about recently , cid have been arround speaking to the lads that deal with these problems themselves. On another note do you know any one with a gopro camera I have to reduce the hedge around Henry Coopers gaf, might be handy to keep a record of whats round the back , Steve
